THAI Smile has suspended all flights to and from mainland China, from February 1 to 29, due to the coronavirus crisis in the country.

Charita Leelayudth, Chief Executive Officer of THAI Smile Airways, said the carrier had cancelled all flights on three roundtrip routes to mainland China: Bangkok- Chongqing, Bangkok-Changsha and Bangkok-Zhengzhou throughout February, 2020.

Passengers who have been affected by the cancellations can obtain a full refund.

For those who still need to travel during the period, THAI Smile will transfer their flight itineraries to its alliance airlines without charge.

At least someone is using common sense and precaution.

I was looking today at one of the big airline booking sites for the BKK-Wuhan connection for a trip early Feb. just out of curiousity, and found no direct flights. But the booking site listed several one or two stop flights as being available by going through other intermediary cities.

I thought commercial air traffic into Wuhan had been halted by the Chinese govt. regardless of the originating location. So maybe one or another of the various airlines (they were smaller ones) hadn't updated their reservation systems as yet to reflect the Wuhan lockdown.
