China is set to open a new hospital in the city at the centre of the coronavirus outbreak, as the numbers of people infected continue to grow.

Wuhan's 1,000-bed Huoshenshan Hospital, built in just eight days, is one of two dedicated facilities being constructed to help tackle the outbreak.

China is struggling to deal with the virus, with more than 17,000 confirmed cases and 361 deaths. Sunday saw the first confirmed fatality outside China, in the Philippines.

Wonder how secure the floors and walls are

They could not have even tested any of labs for positive pressure for security of seals, let alone installed equipement, tested plumbing, drainage etc.

Prebuilt stuff. But yeah in a hurry they've probably forgot to connect things and put everything straight and secure. No worries though, if it collapses, you won't see it, nor anybody else as the commies will just block the news.

Amazing. Just goes to show how far they have progressed since the days of Chairman Mao. Apart from some inevitable mistakes and slip ups, the logistics alone must have been mind boggling. And thousands of Chinese workers working round the clock.

China is probably right to have been less transparent than many people wanted. They have remained low profile, acting stupid, uncouth and uncivilised while learning and possibly even stealing many technological ideas from the west and subsequently improving upon it for their own benefit. This is their route to world dominance unlike some presidents of the US who thinks that military might still rules and will rule forever.

Just in case people are wondering how come there are so many Chinese trolls about these days .. https://www.thaienquirer.com/7301/thai-media-is-outsourcing-much-of-its-coronavirus-coverage-to-beijing-and-thats-just-the-start/

Quote

Thai media is outsourcing much of its coronavirus coverage to Beijing and that’s just the start

Nation seems to be non-affiliated - I think. Doesn't spare TVF from the onslaught.

Troll post removed.

Looks like it is going to be a pandemic let's hope and pray it's not as strong as feared and science can come up with solutions pdq.

But there is growing consensus that the pathogen is readily transmitted between humans.

“It’s very, very transmissible, and it almost certainly is going to be a pandemic,” said Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease.

“But will it be catastrophic? I don’t know.”

Also saying poorer countries will be proportionately affected with Africa being the worst.

When it comes to looking for future, creating functional technologies, promoting sciences instead of ancient ideologies, we all might as well accept that China is the country which shows us the future.

Persia was once the centre of the sciences, Europe had it's time of dominance. Then there was the Moonwalk. Nowaday China has take the torch of scientific and technological improvement.

We might just enjoy the ride and see what it can produce.

Ancient ideologies like communism and functional technologies like traditional medicine?

Nope. Religions, anti vaccine movements and such.

Any high speed trains where you come from? Assuming you’re not French.

Yeah, pendolinos. Italian manufacturer.

It seems odd that on the one hand, they're speed-building two hospitals. On the other hand, they claim the US is creating panic. The two seem to be at complete odds with each other. Strange.
