PM offers moral support to Thais now back from Wuhan

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Prime Minister has offered moral support to the 138 Thais, who recently returned from Wuhan, the ground zero of the new coronavirus outbreak. They are currently being quarantined, and vowed to provide assistance to the medical sector in preventing the spread of the disease.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha -- in a video call -- welcomed home the Thai nationals, four of whom are being kept under close observation after exhibiting flu-like symptoms. He told them to inform officials of their needs during their period of quarantine.

In reply, the group of Thai citizens thanked the government for bringing them home, while adding that they have taken precautionary measures to protect themselves from the coronavirus. Some of them said however, they were not able to contact their families, to which General Prayut replied that he will instruct officials to help them reconnect in that regard.

The Prime Minister also discussed a possible cure for the disease with a team of doctors from Rajvithi Hospital; he said that finding a remedy is a priority that will be escalated to the international level.

Meanwhile, doctors have combined HIV medicines with flu drugs to make a cocktail of antiviral drugs that have so far produced “good results.”

And do not, under any circumstances, complain about our slow response getting you out of Wuhan. wink

I take it that's it's not the middle finger our illustrious leader is waving about there?

How wonderful

Is he making a 'mini heart' with his thumb & forefinger, or rubbing them together, indicating money?

Yes, but please understand, it's very polite, which is more important than anything.

Didn't you know he is a fortune teller in his spare time.

The PM also discussed a cure !!!

Wow this man is full of BS, CURE ? Clearly he has no idea what he is talking about.

Such a good thing that the most wealthy people in Thailand are always so generous with moral support.

I would love to have some too.

Get well soon here is the bill in 60 monthly payments ????

Thai, we are the champions;
even if we have never been able to discover anything;

Maybe he could do some support to about 20 million Thai, living in poverty

 The PM is holding a grain of salt or sand between his thumb and finger to show the

true level of his support..

But I thought Thailand has perfected a cure for Ebola and cancer?  So it's only matter of time.  Next he's going to sort out road deaths; then lung disease deaths.

Since the government has the virus "100% Under Control", why does Uncle General need a video call to welcome his fellow Thais home? His sincere and heartfelt "moral support" would be so much more meaningful...up close...in person.

Bird flu H5NI has reared its head again in China, so the virus has not gone away.
