Morning fog and isolated light rains forecast in upper Thailand

The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Friday (February 14) that the westerly trough is moving to the North, bringing cool to cold weather in the North. The high pressure over the Northeast and the South China Sea is weakening while the easterly wind prevails over the East and the Central. Morning fog and isolated light rain will occur in the lower Northeast, the Central and the East.

 

The department also mentioned the weakening easterly winds across the Gulf cause decreasing rain in the South and weak wind waves in the Gulf.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:

 

Northern region: Cool to cold weather; temperature lows of 13-21 degrees Celsius and highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius. Temperature is likely to drop to 3-12 degrees on hilltops.

 

Northeastern region: Cool weather with morning fog and isolated thundershowers; temperature lows of 17-25 degrees Celsius, highs of 36-37 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 10-15 degrees Celsius on hilltops.

 

Central region: Partly cloudy with morning fog and isolated light rain; temperature lows of 23-24 degrees Celsius, highs of 36-38 degrees Celsius.

 

Eastern region: Partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees Celsius, highs of 33-37 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.

 

Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 30 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 22-25 degrees Celsius and highs of 31-34 degrees Celsius; waves1-2 metres high.

 

Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; tempetature lows of 23-26 degrees Celsius, highs of 34-36 degree Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high.

 

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Partly cloudy with morning fog and isolated light rains ; temperature lows of 25-26 degrees Celsius, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius.
