Is the price formthe test correct or is it an urban myth?

If the former the Government should allocate some of its budget, such as that earmarked for submarines, to initiate a proper free testing scheme.

Not to mention 3,000 u-turn bridges being built to cross the train tracks in every village from North to South of Thailand! ???? Unfortunately there is no cure for stupid greedy dimwit.

I don't want to downplay the seriousness of the soon to be pandemic, but I know a few bar girls who could be accused of being "super spreaders".

  • is there some group of super stupid from which ministers such as this one are mandated to come from ? super spreaders do not Know They Are Spreaders, thus how can they be 'discouraged' ?

Putting sick folks in crowded jails as a punishment?? Better inform the people how to sneeze in public without using their hands and other practical stuff.

As the adverts state “ Amazing Thailand “ nothing Amazes me anymore Most prisons have 50 + inmates in one cell with deceases being rife can you imagine what would happen if a Super spreader suffering from this terrible virus were introduced they would all be dead within a week . The other question is how do they define super spreader is that the minister who was at the conference the other day sweating profusely telling the world there was nothing wrong when he in fact had it how many of those people have been infected.

Let me see if i got this straight: Thailand is proposing fines and or jail sentences for getting sick? Is the only way they feel they can make the news is to embarrass themselves or maybe do they just see themselves as comedians because they sure look like clowns

I find this reaction and the reaction to this virus interesting and often wonder about the world wide non concern about HIV positive people entering countries all over the world.  And obviously have spread their disease to others. All the millions of HIV positive people all over the world going wherever they want. No one cares...

He has a powerful friend.

Google will tell you his father was a minister ????

Still astounds me that the infected person who knowingly lied wasn't thrown in jail.

Let alone quarantine.

Did they already order couple of 911 Turbo's with thermometers for hunting down these super spreaders?

So.....would someone who allows entry of tourists into Thailand from heavily infected areas be considered a "super spreader"?

yet you did.

What will the punishment be for the authorities to hide information about already infected persons?

Got information this morning that one more person, 53 years old, returning from Japan in a group of 16 people from Rayong are infected with Covid-19. Looking forward to read about this later today if they provide it to the public.

Word to the wise; I wouldn't come close to her.  Another word to the wise, never use a UV light in a short time room. ????

They are saying everything is ‘under control’ but there is still the local people popping up as being infected day by day. Also, are the fines and jail  terms for just foreigners or for locals as well (and are there any specially-built quarantine cells for the infected?)?

They always try to think of an idea of getting extra ‘bees & honey’ out of everything. The idea of letting the Chinese in and sending the sick to prison is so daffadown dilly. It doesn’t solve anything— it’s more like opening a can of worms. Besides, the infected people aren’t criminals; they didn’t choose to be infected.

This A**** TIN dude needs to be dumped into the trash immediately

sick persons should be quarantined in proper medical conditions.

It is obvious anyone arrested under proposed laws as being super spreaders (and therefore a direct threat to the public) would be placed in quarantine under hospital guard and kept there until they were symptoms free BEFORE they were hauled off to gaol.  There would be protocols put in place OBVIOUSLY.

What I find most alarming is how this situation may be used now but especially in future to control and restrict human freedom. Entire cities, communities or even countries can potentially be controlled at will as a measure to prevent the spread of a virus.

What is all this fuzz about.

But letting in Chinese nationals, which was / is the epicenter of the epidemic, has been always ok.

Unbelievable! Unbelievable!

How can he be so foolish.
Those people who do not know they are spreading a virus certainly can’t be discouraged by a fine or jail.
Sadly Thailand has failed again!  And again!

I truly believe the intended legislation is to be targeted at those who are highly suspected/confirmed to have COVID 19 but refuse to get treated and therefore go on infecting others.

Any responsible human being would do the right thing but then recent incident of non-compliant infected citizens means emergency powers need to be created.  They pose a real threat.  And I agree on the legislation to arrest them, quarantine and treat them (OBVIOUS NEXT STEP), then prosecute them.  Punishment is appropriate for idiots who don't care about infecting others.

money money money .. is a pandemics ..

In case the medical staff believes you are showing the sympthons of Novel Corona and ask you to take a test, is that chargeable to you?

If NO, and then if the person refuses I don't see anything wrong with this idea to put a fine on people.

If YES, then it could just be a way of hospital to get more money out of people. We know thais are master on it.

don't test, don't tell

Darn it all!  I just switched my 'dunce of the year' entry to the tourism minister the other day. Should have stuck with this joker.

But doesn't the article refer to those showing signs /symptoms but refusing to be tested, as being "super spreaders"?

Aren't people who test positive supposed to be isolated?  A crowded jail doesn't seem to me to be suitable.
