Undercover officers mounted a sting in the Nana red light district of Bangkok and rounded up seventeen foreign prostitutes selling sex services on the street.

Immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang gave details of the bust at a briefing yesterday.

He said that operatives had offered 1,500 baht for the services of the women.

Nine Vietnamese women were arrested along with seven from Tanzania and one Kenyan.

They had been loitering around bars, entertainment venues and restaurants in the area.

All were taken to Lumpini police station and all will be deported and blacklisted.

In another report on the same bust INN reported in their headline that the foreign prostitutes were damaging Thai tourism

INN said that immigration's biometrics capability aided in the arrest of the prostitutes

Because the tourists want Thai prostitutes and are shocked when they find out, that the Asian girl comes from Vietnam and the black ones from Africa? Do they feel scammed?

They'll do just fine as competition was reduced.

Are the ones with balaclavas the undercover guys?

I wonder if they parachuted in from high altitude in the dark with night vision goggles to conduct the raid. Must have been a terrifying mission. Award ceremony forthcoming.

So Vietnamese prostitutes damage Thai tourism and how is that?  Do Thais still believe in the myth that there are no Thai prostitutes or do Thais believe they are better in the cot?

Good job!

And here I am, all these years, thinking Nana was a Jehova's Witness Convention Hall. Silly me!

This thread feels like a repeat. I think I read this a few days ago. The picture in the OP was a dead give away. But I see posted 5 hours ago. Hmmm Maybe just me.

How can there be prostitutes? I thought prostitutes do not exist here?

And I thought it was a Seventh Day Adventist training camp.

And what about all the Thai brass around Nana? I guess that is like Pattaya and does not exist.

seems like they should give the vietnamese a second chance.

I would have thought Thai tourism had been damaged beyond repair by generals not hookers ????

Since Craigslist closed down its personals section, all the freelancers have just moved on to the dating sites. Sites like Thaifriendly.com are just overrun with freelancers these days. Of course, immigration wouldn't be interested in them since most are Thai.

They should send them down to Patts to help out their sistas with the sailors.
