Facemask sales limited to pack a day

You can now buy only one four-piece packet of facemasks per day, the Department of Internal Trade has decided, in a bid to maintain an adequate supply.

Director general Whichai Pochanakij said on Friday (February 28) he had discussed the matter with executives of CP All, which operates 7-Eleven stores, about limiting sales at all 11,800 outlets.

“Sales have been limited to one pack per person per day to prevent multiple purchases,” he said.

The department asked Blue Flag shops to impose the same restriction.

“We’re making them more accessible by hastening their distribution through convenience stores, Blue Flags, Mini Big C and Lotus Express, covering around 14,000 outlets in total,” Whichai said.

The 11 factories producing masks in Thailand can together churn out up to 35 million a month.

Will immigration have a new form that, available at Promenada only, to be stamped by the shop when you buy the masks and the stamped form to be returned to immigration within 24 hours under threat of a 5000 baht fine ?

True, the WHO Thailand pointed this out a while back, contradicting the health minister's position that those "damned farang" who refuse to wear them should be kicked out of Thailand.

The problem was the Chinese were trying to buy them all a couple of the pharmacy's that I know stopped selling them to the Chinese and keep them for Thai people

According to my observations all masks are useless because many people use them as chin mask. Better leave them to those who know when and how to use them.

lol, every other day another packet gets plonked on my desk.... Rather amusing to see work colleagues use them as a sleeping mask to grab a few ZZZZ's during their lunch break.

Having never worn one before yesterday, the borrowed one I used was by 3M...  My problem was seeing.... 1.5 hours each way on Purple line + underground line = every time I breath my glasses misted up, what did I do wrong ??

Great cuz I’m sick with flu and fever itchy lungs and coughting rn.. they should make it two weeks for sick people ????

to make it worse I met a few Chinese people a few days before From guandzong and sanghai... but since my fever is only 37-37.5 they didn’t test me when I went hospital. And I can’t even get a mask cuz sold out everywhere ????. I’m staying home and taking antibiotics but yeah don’t blame me if people around me get sick with rules like this.. can’t buy mask can’t test virus ????

Probably the wrong size for your face or you did not adjust the thin metal bar to your nose.

Same here when I tried one last year due to the air pollution. Within 15 minutes I was getting sniffles due to the poor air flow, and my sunglasses were misted up.

Nah. Had a really bad bacterial sore throat also... it’s improved a lot since started taking.... but that’s issue. There could be more than just that. They didn’t test me so who knows.

So, with 70 million Thai, every Thai must share one mask with another Thai for one whole month. Wow !!! ????

Fortunately I stocked up to help fend off Thailand's horrendous 2.5PM air pollution debacle before the wu virus panic stampede.

Just watched the news this morning that had several doctors on a panel and they said the same thing only useful if you are sick and it helps not spreading the virus to others.

Why are you taking antibiotics?

Did the doctors tell you so?

The mask in the picture is almost useless. Why aren't people at least wearing FFP3 masks?

You should be aware that antibiotics can weaken your immune system. This can cause a double whammy if what you have is a virus because antibiotics are useless against them. You could be helping the virus.

Though I doubt you have nCoV2019, if you do, you could be cooking your own goose. They are saying that mild forms can suddenly turn much worse in the 2nd or 3rd week as it spreads deeper into the lungs. The immune system didn't stop it. If you are serious, I would consider talking to a doctor.

Although research on this is fairly new, the effect has been know by medical people for decades.  How antibiotics may render flu infections more dangerous

There's none of anything left.

Limiting the small supply of these crappy useless masks to just a small handful each time sounds like they've come up with a plan that can cause the maximum amount of exposure by forcing people to make unnecessary trips back and forth to the local shops.

I've almost never heard of anything so stupid before, but just a short while back Anutin had his rant.

I am worried about pollution masks.

Have around 60-70 now.

Luckily I bought some in December because of the pollution at that time.

But the supply is limited. How can I protect myself after that? They cost 20 THB per piece before at the 3M shop. Now I should pay 10 USD because of Corona?

I am talking about air pollution.

How do I protect myself once I run out of masks.
