Popular Post webfact
Anutin and the virus: Advises Thais to make DIY masks - that'll teach the hoarders a lesson! Picture: Spring News Thailand's embattled health minister has made another outburst about Covid-19. Anutin Charnvirakul was quoted by Spring News after a meeting as saying that Thais should make their own masks from cloth. The DIY masks would be one in the eye for hoarders, said the man who hopes to be PM one day. He said such cloth masks would be more environmentally friendly than "surgical masks". He said gruffly: "That's the way to hurt the hoarders. It's time Thais got together and taught them a lesson". Spring News referred to the DPM and health minister as "Sia Noo" in their headline. "Sia" refers to a wealthy businessman and "noo" is the Thai word for a rat. Anutin also assured the public that Thai medications were effective, still in adequate supply and that the government is in control of the situation. Popular Post ThomasThBKK
Maybe we would have masks if he didn't give them away on the street. At least this country continues to be entertaining. Even tho that's the only thing these guys provide. According to this analysis of the non woven garment industry in thailand: https://www.mtec.or.th/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Pre-PR_Release_ANDTEX-2019_EN.pdf Quote Thailand has an advantage as one of the few countries in the world that provides a complete value chain for the entire textile industry, from upstream, midstream and downstream – including the production of raw materials, dyeing, finishing and printing, down to the design and production of finished products. In addition, the industry focuses on value creation through the integration of high functioning technology as an integral part of the value chain. We would have everything here to produces millions of masks a day, but instead of this the hisos sell off the rubber and garment to china and thais are suffering as the thai supply chain for masks depends on china for raw materials, materials that thailand has themselves - in theory. An epic fail caused by greed and unsustainability.

Popular Post wotsdermatter
In the meantime, the WHO and many CDCs or their equivalents around the world keep announcing that such masks as he proposes people should make at home, have announced many times that they are totally useless against this or any other virus and all forms of pollution. Just to start, they do not fit the face as do N95 masks. Also, Thailand still insists that the Chinese, Indians, etc can fly in and out willy-nilly when many countries have banned flight into and out of those countries because of the ongoing transportation of the virus. To date some 10,000 flights have been cancelled worldwide because of the possibility of the virus being transported from locations where it exists. For one, I will not fly back to Thailand from Canada as I have to change planes, and spend time in different airports, in such countries as China, Hong Kong, Korea or Japan. Grumpy John
You could use hot melt glue to affix rubber bands to a sanitary napkin as an easy way to make masks. Then at that time of month the Girl's can still put them to use.

Try this one for a change What is a face mask? A face mask is a loose-fitting mask that covers the nose and mouth area. They have two ear loops that stretch around the ears to hold the mask in place. Face masks are designed to be used as one-way protection only, only capturing large particles or droplets from the wearer and preventing them from being spread to the environment. They are typically used to prevent the spread of common colds and the flu. Contrary to belief, face masks do not protect the wearer at all. Typically, most face masks do not have any protection factor assigned to them and are not NIOSH (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health)-approved apparatuses. What is a respirator? A respirator is a tight-fitting mask that creates a facial seal. Each respirator, when used properly, will create a facial seal that will provide two-way protection, filtering the air entering and exiting the wearer at a level of efficiency designated by the respirator or filter/cartridge (half-face and full-face). Respirators come in three distinct categories:
