Siem Reap to expand orchid park to 2,000 hectares

Kesor Kol Sok An Phnom Kulen Research and Conservation Centre is expanding its yard for Kesor Kol park (Orchid flower park) to 2,000 hectares to attract tourists and trading, benefiting national development.

 

The update was shared with reporters by Mr Sun Kong, President of Siem Reap Provincial Environment Department in Siem Reap province. Mr Sun Kong continued that in the future, the 2,000-hectare orchid centre will not only be a flower research centre, but also a trading and recreational site.

 

As part of the expansion, the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with concerned institutions will establish coffee and souvenir shops and a plant park. After that, there will be initiatives for flower conservation and planting, the creation of attraction sites, and beyond.
