Public Health Deputy Minister Satit Pitutecha reported that 18 of around 80 illegal Thai labourers who returned from South Korea and evaded a 14-day state quarantine have been rounded up, with 62 still missing.

The 18 will be considered for immediate quarantine.

If the remaining missing illegal workers do not report to a Provincial Health Office by 11.59pm tomorrow (March 10), they will be fined up to Bt100,000 or given a one-year prison sentence, or both, Satit warned.

The Public Health Ministry still does not know the exact number of returning labourers in advance, but they will definitely know when the group leaves South Korea for Thailand, since the airline they use will provide information to the airport, he said.

I think many family members and friends know who these people are,for safety sake I would hope they can persuade them to comply to this order. It doesn't mention if these individuals were suspected of being positive, only that they were Thais coming from S K and that they were illegal laborers

Releasing the names and photos of the missing people after the deadline along with the 10,000 Baht reward will result in every one of them being rounded up very quickly.

It might also result in some nasty vigilante actions which will encourage the rest to surrender themselves immediately, the Thai people are not happy with this situation.

In China they would get a severe beating by the police, plenty of video's of that on the web.....

And if they were foreigners doing this they would get harsh punishment i bet.

How will they fine them, they dont know where they are hiding????

Escape from Thailand, or Escape to Thailand?

Its taken 2 days or so to " capture " 18 of the runaway people that have returned from S. Korea.

At the rate this is going, it will take at least another 3 Days to capture the remaining 62 runways.

Meanwhile, all these people have been running around the Country without a care in the World possibly infecting thousands of Citizens with Covid 19.

Each and every one of these" Escapees " should be given 14 Days Quarantine AND THEN serve at least 3 Months in Prison.

And the so called people in charge of the screening of these people should serve the very same 3 Months in Prison for neglect of Duty.

While many will no doubt be brain surgeons , rocket scientists, laywers, a few may return to their old ways, suggest they look at other professions.

About time they made Thai people do TM30 reporting, 90 day reporting, and TM6 reporting.  That way they'd know where everybody is all the time.

So, that's 62 of 80 already found.

But the figures announced were 80-90 who fled.

So the real story is that between 62 and possibly 72 more people need to be found.

Or were there more than 90 who fled? Who counted them fleeing and how?

If they were all moving fast to get away, how accurate was the counting method used?

Was it Thai counting or world standard counting?
