Popular Post webfact
Mukdahan village residents block illegal workers from entering university over virus fears By The Nation Some 150 residents of Dan Kham village in Mukdahan province last night (March 9) blocked access to Ubon Ratchathani University, preventing officials from quarantining illegal workers, who returned from South Korea, in the university. The protesters were infuriated and held signs asking the governor why they had to risk their lives amid the Covid-19 situation after they learned that officials tried to sneak the workers into the university at night to quarantine them. The leader of the protesters said that if the officials did not listen to them, more people would join the group since they were determined not to allow people who had a high risk of contracting Covid-19 to enter their residential zones. The group said it was monitoring the situation for 24 hours to make sure none of the labourers entered the university.
