Popular Post Baerboxer
A business would've moved over the weekend starting Friday pm and making sure to open Monday so as not to disrupt their service to customers. But, service to customers users isn't on the agenda let alone a prime concern! 4 1
legend49
Do they co share the old building with Australian embassy. I read that after the Aussies sold their site they were using the same offices of British embassy
robertson468
Just had email from a Friend who said Embassy is closed temporarily (but not how long) due to a staff member having the virus. I would have thought they test everyone who worked closely with the infected member, then fumigate the offices........job done and now GET ON WITH YOUR WORK, WHICH IS MEANT TO BE SERVING BRITISH NATIONALS! 1

However, the Aussies have their own building, which is much larger than the old one, located on a quiet alley off of Wireless road. Sounds like the Brits will have only a small office inside a high-rise building. Even the Swiss still have their own building and some land. What a downgrade of their status in Thailand...they're now on the same level as Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands.

It wouldn't have surprised me if they'd set up in the corner of a British pub, like the Robin Hood. Could have had a pint then while you were waiting. 1

joebrown
It isn't an Embassy assisting it's citizens. It's a trade mission for entertaining business cronies.

It IS an Embassy, but, rather than assisting its expat citizens here in Thailand, it is an Embassy that IMHO sees its principal role as a key player in the development and implementation of a joint Thai/British governmental strategy aimed at making our lives in LOS as miserable and difficult as is humanly possible (as witnessed by the cessation of their income confirmation service and the introduction of cumbersomely bureaucratically awkward procedures over the years for renewing passports and for State Pensioners to prove that they are still in the land of the living - not to mention all the "delights" that the Immigration Bureau have chosen to inflict on us in recent times to boot!).
