Interesting comment. Khun Thanathorn mentioned in his recent talk at the FCCT that they didn't have enough time to vet all the applications for membership before the election and it seems plausible to

Every single thing that is army generated, including the ridiculous new constitution must go. Including Prayuth, and the entire army. They are a boil on the face of the nation.

Absolutely right but what can people do about it? These lot aren't going to go without a fight. It's clear they have zero morals and will do whatever it takes to stay in power.

When the Thai populous finally wake up to the sheer ineptness of the politicians they will turn on them.

Many Thais in employment, business imports/exports/tourism/agriculture/farming are all feeling the sheer struggle of the burden put on them by the government.

The dying economy, lack of tourism, the Baht strength, pollution, Corvid 19 and all the other issues...

the straw will soon break the normally quiet back of the people, then look-out.

Could be, but a brave move if true. I don't think the current powers that be care too much about international exposure, and it would be very easy to get rid of Thanathorn with an outwardly plausible death if they were able to get him in jail.

Revolutions have been started by martyrs.

So the difficulties of democratic systems in our modern huge and hugely complex societies are a reason to put up with authoritarian & military rule?

The real power needs to be retired and that is going to be very difficult.

I'm hoping the obvious quick win might buy time and keep calm But once folk taste the freedom genie it's very hard to put it back in the bottle.

They are already more than awake it's the stirring bit which is already happening that needs to gather pace.

I'm afraid we would see this guy in near future either leaving the country or staying in prison. ????

The country is *****  incapable of moving forward and I say that after 11 years

Thais are passive to a point, then the red mist kicks in and .... boom!

For so many reasons the economy is plunging and taking down employment with it, those are real people facing real family debt issues.

With little financial help from the government and less chance of re-employment this year they are going to start kicking back against the system.

When they can't afford to re-pay all their monthly bills, send the kids to school, or buy sufficient food and start going hungry they will look at the elite parading around as grand masters spouting were are in control. the fuse will be lit!

Not the point I was making. But more than happy to debate the merits of both systems some time if you haved a few hours to spare - preferably somewhere shady over a cool beer.

Economic turmoil usually does have that effect but I don't think there's anything, including an extinction level asteroid strike, that would propel Thais into action. Well, maybe if you banned facebook.

Brave man in a dangerous Country, hope ordinary people strongly support him.

Which, in countries where people (eg students) have the guts to fight for their rights, would mean even more people out on the streets.

Are there others silent players who are powerful and are controlling the whole thing?
