LONDON (Reuters) - British Chancellor Rishi Sunak said on Thursday that Britain did not see the need for a U.S-style flying ban as part of its response to the spread of coronavirus.

“The evidence here does not support that,” Sunak told BBC television.

U.S. President Donald Trump ordered travel from Europe to the United States to be restricted for 30 days. Travel from Britain would not be affected by the ban.

Idiots, they should implement a ban immediately.

Why. It makes no sense now.

What needs to be done is to ban anyone that has not been tested. Bit the cats out of the bag. Travel ban needed months ago. Its irrelevant now.

I agree it should have been done way sooner but it's about slowing it down and attempting to avoid a situation where the hospitals run out of capacity.

And not closing the schools like in the US either. Two distinct paths there, and in 4 -6 months we'll find out who had the best way. Which may become invaluable information in the future if struck again with something even deadlier.

Closing schools and universities is likely the best way to slow down such an epidemic.

This virus, may be the test case of the pestulants to come, and the stumbling countries

around the world are showing how badly they are handling this virus.

As someone else said,  maybe we are all doomed.
