EU's Brexit top negotiator Barnier has coronavirus

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union’s chief negotiator for Brexit, Michel Barnier, said on Thursday he had tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

 

“I would like to inform you that I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am doing well and in good spirits. I am following all the necessary instructions, as is my team,” he said on Twitter.

I would like to say that politicians should switch to videoconferencing instead of personal meetings , but I would like to see a lot of their policies changed , too ...

Barnier ill means less time to negociate. And as Boris said and fixed in UK law: 31 Dec 2020 - 24:00 we leave, quite soon the EU can levy import duty on UK goods into the EU. British entering the EU: covid-19 did stop that already. So, enjoy your foggy isles

Remember that all Brexiteers are not necessarily haters of the EU or their representatives.

 

I understand that Juncker has sciatica, which can cause great pain. However, those with sciatica and experiencing this pain would not be capable of displaying an inane grin, while giving foreign leaders a friendly slap on the cheek on TV. I don't wish anyone this pain but it seems that this medical excuse is literally taking the peace.

 

If M. Barnier has the virus, then I truly wish him a speedy and full recovery. These things should not be wished by anyone...by anyone.

This is a good time to end these useless negotiations, where England is only playing time. 

 

No-deal is the endgame. So why not to close the borders and end business between UK and EU right now? The sooner, the better.

 

Funny how Brexit is just a tiny issue for Europe right now. UK begone.

We all know how bs these whole negotiations really are. Why not to cut the string and become adjusted to the new future?

 

UK is already isolated from the EU, just the way England wished and behaved. 

 

Let's simply make this permanent, so that it's clear for everybody.

This cut of all relationships with the EU must be delivered right now. The sooner, the better.

No-one gives a sh&t about Brexit at the moment. National unity calls for suspending any animosities or old beefs and pulling together to get through this. There is virtually a government of national unity at the moment. Boris is no fool when he needs to pull his finger out.
