Phuket teens arrested for stealing motorbike from police station

PHUKET--: Two teenagers have been arrested for stealing a seized motorbike from Wichit Police Station in the early hours of last Friday. The motorbike was not reported missing until its owner turned up to reclaim it on Wednesday, but police found that the motorbike was nowhere to be found.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - A Thai court on Friday fined the local unit of tobacco company Philip Morris <PM.N> 130 million baht for dodging tax on cigarette imports from Indonesia.

PHUKET:-- Police today arrested a 25-year-old man for robbing coin boxes at a 24-hour laundrette in Phuket Town after a 56-year-old man kicked the thief off his motorbike and chased him to a house in a dead-end street in Samkong

Ex-deputy commerce minister Banyin sentenced to eight years in prison

Former Deputy Commerce minister Banyin Tangpakorn was sentenced to eight years in prison on Friday, after the Bangkok South Criminal Court found him guilty of falsifying documents and using them in the transfer of about 300 million baht in shares from a property developer to him and his two accomplices, Ms. Kanthana “Namtarn” and Ms. Oracha “Ponkhao” Wachirakunthon, who were sentenced to four years.

Thais told to stay home to lessen burden of medical personnel

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha has urged Thais to stay at home and avoid travelling to other provinces following a Public Health Ministry announcement today (March 20) that the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases had soared to 322 , said Tewan Liptapanlop, head of Prime Minister's Office.
