They haven't the resources for such nonsence & will make that point known to imm if they haven't already done so.

IMO that's a ridiculous non starter & will be pushed back in much the same way pension letters were.

Probably won't offer this service unless all flights to the UK get cancelled like those to Italy.

British Consular services are practicality non-existent now.

 

I remember the days when I could walk in, say I'd no money and they'd lend me some to get a flight home.
