Bangkokians stay away public places as Covid-19 cases mount

Fears of Covid-19 spreading have kept the usually high crowds away from famous attractions in Bangkok as well as BTS trains, department stores and flea markets on Saturday (March 21).

 

 

This week, the number of patients has seen a big jump, compared to previous weeks. This situation has forced the government to take more steps related to public health, foreign affairs and information, to deal with the virus.

 

 

With 89 new cases, the number of Covid-19 patients has risen to 411.

 

 

The government's measures to prevent groups of people from gathering at potential hotspots, such as theatres, gymnasiums and entertainment venues, has led to lesser crowding.

 

 

Besides, several corporations have urged their staffs to work from home.

Why is that Market open? because no one pays attention to the ‘crack downs’ and ‘announcements’ until the BiB come round and implement the measures. 

 

It was reported that 7-11’s and Supermarkets were to remain open. 

I wonder if ‘mom & pop’ stores selling essentials can also remain open.

Yes they can.  Shops selling food, pharmacies and convenience stores can open, as can restaurants but only for take-out food.  Public transport, banks and workplaces continue to be open.

That market is open because there is no order that calls for it to be closed.

1) travel to their embassy, in the hope (or not) that they give a letter for immigration

2) travel to immigration to beg to follow the rules and give 30 extra days

So many airlines are shutting down their international routes that soon most travellers will

find themselves stranded.  With most entertainment places closed, what kind of vacation

will tourists actually have. The Vacation From Hell, is wbat you will have.

  I am glad that I was able to get back home.

The wife says many people who are from Issan that live and work in BK are coming back to roost!

 

Its time to stay home and only go out when necessary!

I saw a couple of massage places before Thong Lor with a creative solution to the loss of income. A woman sits out front with a little folding table stacked with bananas and other food items. If you stop to inspect them it will be obvious that there is a light on inside and the door is not locked. But they are selling food! Of course everything is a trade-off: a massage... your life... hmmm... let me think...
