A Chulalongkorn University student was found to be infected with Covid-19 on Sunday (March 22) and has been moved to Chulalongkorn Hospital, Dr Narin Hiransuthikul, the head of the university’s Covid-19 Emergency Operation Centre, said on Monday (March 23).

This was the university's second case.

The student was from the faculty of communication arts, and the information was relayed to Dr Parichart Sthapitanonda, the faculty’s dean, after the infection was confirmed by a private hospital.

The faculty of communication arts has collected information of people who were in proximity to the patient, as well as places he has visited and activities he has participated in over the past 14 days. The faculty has closed important places and sterilised them.

In addition, the Covid-19 Emergency Operation Centre has monitored the patient’s close persons to estimate the risk and give them advice.
