Pattaya: Crazed foreigner taken into custody after waving a torch at passersby

Ten officers from the Pattaya police station were required to get a crazed foreigner into custody after he started going berserk on Sai 2 road yesterday. 

 

The burly and tall man wearing a red shirt and long pants had been creating trouble waving a torch aggressively at tourists and Thais passing by, reported Ruk Siam News. 

 

After attempts to talk him round failed the police decided that a more proactive approach was required.

His nationality and problems are not known though a quantity of medication for nerve related disorders were found in his possession. 

 

He had no identification. 

 

He is being held at Pattaya police station.

Actually in western countries there may have been more.

You never know if a person is crazed, on drugs or armed.

As many cops can get there the better. It is called backup and trying to work as a team in a

possible dangerous and or volatile situation.

Apparently the torch was a a novelty cigarette lighter shaped like a gun.
