petedk Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 He'll probably get a slap on the wrist and told not to re-open. Still one or two restaurants open around here last night. The drivers parked outside our house with their motors on for a couple of hours while the bosses went out to eat. I went for a walk to see and saw one open (behind closed doors). I could just see through a gap people were sitting inside eating. 1
smedly Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Bars closed Restaurants open in pattaya - how logical is that, what's the difference in selling beer and selling food to masses of people .............. none and when I say open I mean masses of people sitting drinking beer in restaurants - treetown a fine example Buriram Governor has the right approach - restaurants can open for take away service or deliver - no sitting eating and drinking beers - that's just a bar serving food 1

When I went past about 7pm it all looked very quiet with few lights on. Agreed Chunky Monkey and Hungry Hippo had people in.

The police are there, wearing their face masks that are useless, and as you rightly say no gloves, which is how they will catch the virus. I bet they were touching all those potentially infected surfaces, then later touching their faces to remove the face masks. I'd like to think the cops would have the common sense to wash their hands first, before removing their masks and touching their faces, but somehow I doubt it. I just saw a scientific report (it was posted elsewhere on TVF) saying that the virus can survive 72 hours on plastic and stainless steel surfaces: source: https://www.nejm.org/doi/10.1056/NEJMc2004973 1
