Hi,

My 30-day visa exempt stamp expires of Friday, April 4. What is the earliest date I can apply for the 30-day extension from Immigration? I seem to remember reading within 1 week of expiry, but I may be wrong. Can I actually extend tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25, which would be more than 7 day before expiry. The reason I am asking is I would like to get it done before a possible State of Emergency comes into being on Thursday, just in case they ban travel or Immigration Offices are closed.

Ubonjoe advised me that I will need a completed TM7 form with a 4 X 6 photo attached and copies of my passport photo page, entry stamp and TM6 departure card. And 1,900THB, of course. Do I also need to present a copy of my TM.30 online registration or a copy of the lease agreement for where I am staying?

Many thanks.

You have it covered. Your plan is fine.

Thanks. So, no "can only extend within x number of days of expiry" then?

The TM.30 was all done online. Just needed to know whether they need to see a printout of what should be in front of them on their computer screen.????

You can extend anytime. To make silly point, if you applied in first few days of your entry, the io if he wanted could grant 30 days from when you applied. That's why most recommend apply in last 7-10 days.

As for tm30 would be crazy for io to insist on one as your on 30 day visa exempt entry. To be super safe maybe have on the ready details of your hotel. eg flyer with their address. Won't be required.

If you're on a tourist visa they won't ask for any TM30 report.

If it is the first extension of your entry you do not need a letter from your embassy. No health certificate is needed for any extension.

It is only needed for the 2nd one.

Question: how many times can one get an extra 30 days extension to their 30 day visa exempt stamp?

First time done, second time I believe I need a letter from the embassy, third time, etc?
