Passengers at MRT Purple Line stations given mandatory health questionnaires

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and Bangkok Expressway and Metro (BEM) have prepared health questionnaires at MRT Purple Line stations located outside Bangkok, since Saturday (March 28), as a measure to control Covid-19 infection in Thailand.

The stations have also provided areas for people to fill the document, which passengers should carry in case government officials ask for checking.

MRTA governor Pakapong Sirikantaramas explained that providing the questionnaire was in line with the Department of Rail Transport’s measure announced recently.

“The document has been provided for those passengers travelling across provincial borders,” he said. “The information filled by the passengers would help control communicable diseases at stations outside Bangkok limits."

I believe this is unecessary. Having people wear masks, check their temperatures, use a hand sanitizer and keep social distancing is enough. Filling out a form is a nuisance and a waste of time. Just shut down the trains if you make it that problematic.

He also did not rule out the taking of anal swabs next week.

Hope the questionaire is in English and Thai to eliminate the need for assistance from a lissome lady employee in completing the document.
