Did the couple request paid security from US - from the OP it appears they did not do so. Yet again trump being a blowhard.

This infantilizing behaviour, in which anti-Trumpers, like safe-space children, seek to BLAME some outside authority for their own weakness of mind is truly astounding.

Sensible decision. First one in 3.5 years!

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Donald John Trump, Thank you Sir!! You just know 44 would have paid this divisive pair, but not 45. No way.

An incredibly weak comparison. Trump is POTUS. Harry and Meghan are now minor celebrities.

Maybe Trump heard what Harry said about him on that phone call a couple of weeks ago when he got duped into thinking he was talking to Greta Thunberg's parents?

Harry's proving he's not too smart once he outside the protection of the Royal bubble. He really was easy pickings for Markle. Like taking candy from a baby.

Classic Trump. Gives the impression he has made a tough decision when there was no decision to be made.

Canada refused to pay for their protection while in Canada, so Trump's decision isn't unique. While they can have the protection from nine "royal protection officers" in the US, under US law they are not allowed to carry guns - unlike most Americans. PS: Meghan is a US citizen and should be able to arm herself (in compliance with California state, county and city laws).

Really not worth commenting, as it's the same old. IMO, closing down Twitter would do the world a favour...

Ironically, Trump fails to reimburse costs for protection services provided to him by US city, county and state enforcement agencies.

Visiting is one thing. moving and settling in is another.  Not the same.  The two of them abdicated and withdrew from any Royal connection so they have no status as far as I am concerned.  And they should not have diplomatic status or passports.  So just how will they stay in the USA?  SPecial Visa processing and skipping over the thousands of legitimate applicants that are applying to live in the USA?

OK.  Good point. So is she bringing Harry in on a spousal or K9 visa?

I am certain they can afford their own security. There are larger fish to fry at the moment. If anything good comes out of this virus, perhaps it will be a society that is less obsessed with celebrity.

You failed to address the question on the post you quoted.

Spongers the lot of them

Harry, no longer has diplomatic immunity. One assumes his US residency would be based upon his marriage to Megan.

No the President is being a proactive individual, not a blow hard.  By putting them on notice and the world he has indicated they are nt special, they are just like a NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL star, all on their own in this world as it should be.  Maybe he can, the no longer Royal can hire some former SAS folks to guard the Markle Compound.

Sure anti trump, thoroughly dislike the man, his politics and using his position as President to attack individuals who disagree with him - IMO the guy is a disgrace. 'wokeness' LOL

It has nothing to do with status or trying to be ordinary. Prince Harry will always be the son of Prince Charles and brother to Prince William, future Kings of England, and as such is a permanent risk to the UK monarchy.

Security is necessary and should be funded by those at risk.

It is not without precedent, for security reasons during the Greek coup of 1967 the Queen's mother in law was evacuated by the UK government and taken into Buckingham Palace.

Wouldn't you think a President at this time would have more pressing issues than being proactive with, in the scheme of things, an extraordinarily minor matter. IMO the man is a complete disgrace

Speaking of hot air, I am feeling enough now to launch my own hot air balloon.  Lucky it wasn't tweeted, how would that make you feel.  Obviously he can not, nor can anyone do right in your eyes.  Good luck in life.

Trump is the US President elect - Markle and Harry are nothings who can't even open a supermarket!!

So far you're correct regards by attitude towards trump. Your other personal attack comment is atypical of trump and his supporters

Protection would have been provided given Harry's former role as a Royal - Head of State kind of nonsense. Last thing ANY President wants to deal with is some tragedy afflicting someone of Harry's former status. So it's more of a courtesy than requirement.

Now that he and the third rate actress have left the Royal employ, the US taxpayer should not be paying for their security since that moral hazard is no longer there.

They can afford their own security if they feel they require it. Welcome to the real world Harry, has someone shown you how to tie your own shoes yet.

the couple took a private flight to Los Angeles

They probably just flew in to tell us all we must cut down on our carbon output,  or as he said a few months ago, "People  don't have use their car everyday".......

I know there are a few Brit's on here that would love to tug their forelock and bow down as he passes-- but if you want the true measure of the man, try listening to the (Fake) phone call he thought he was having with Greta Thunberg --its on YouTube . He really does come across as a spoiled child.

My favorite line in it---:

"Yes I am much happier now I am leading a normal life"

Flying into L.A, on a private jet surrounded by  their security team, which includes a roster of nine highly skilled British officers shuttling between the UK and US, estimated to be  £--millions a year and is covered by British taxpayers.

Yep ....that's the normal persons life Harry......................................:coffee1:

Sorry, didn't see this was a Trump/Harry/Meghan thread ..............

I thought they were moving to Canada, what's Trump got to do with them?

Didn't Meghan vow never to return to the USA if Trump were elected?

Edited by BritManToo

Trump is once again playing to the racists in his base for whom Meghan Markle is an individual who sits dead center of their race hatred.
