webfact
Covid-19: Taxi driver lied to dentist about connection to boxing event Picture: Sanook Sanook reported that the Thai health authorities were urging all people to be frank and honest about their movements as the Covid-19 crisis intensifies in the country. People should not be lying about having been abroad or having had contact in high risk situations, they said. They reported on a post on Facebook by Nuttaporn Shoomparng about a taxi driver who lied to a dentist about attending the now infamous boxing match at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on March 6th when many people were infected. The post said that the man, dressed as a taxi driver, had been referred to a dentist after reporting a headache and muscle pains. The man had a temperature of 36.6C and denied any high risk contacts or behavior when questioned. They were given meds and recommended for a tooth extraction. The dentist then questioned the taxi driver specifically about going to the boxing. He allegedly said that he had done so 2 or three months before but not to the event in question. The tooth was extracted and when the patient was being told to bite on the gauze the truth came out that actually he had gone to Lumpinee Stadium on the 6th and then driven his taxi around for the next 2-3 days. All his friends had been contacted by the police but he had escaped, he said. This prompted the dentist to send the man for a Covid-19 test that came back positive. The dentist then became a PUI - patient under investigation. The poster said people must be frank from the start about their history and movements to properly protect people like health care personnel. petedk
It's people who act like that that will lead the government to declare a curfew. Why didn't he report to the police. It also says all his friends had reported to the police, so why didn't they mention that he was there? Let's hope he didn't infect any passengers in those 2 or 3 days. Report to the Police in Thailand has a very different meaning from doing the same in the West.

Popular Post Misterwhisper
Selfish, selfish, selfish. Irresponsible, irresponsible, irresponsible. Unscrupulous, unscrupulous, unscrupulous. Unfortunately it's people like him (Me! Me! Me!) who will unwittingly ensure that the virus spreads faster and further than necessary. And apparently he doesn't seem to feel that he's done anything wrong or that he's responsible for possibly having infected his entire family, not to mention an unknown number of strangers with whom he's got into contact. Sporting events, clubs and concerts are possibly the most dangerous areas, due to singing and shouting that can aerosolise the virus - making it stay in suspension longer. I think this could be a reason why so many got infected at the boxing stadium.

It's a shame they still don't use gas for extractions, like they did back when I was a kid, I'd of opened the tap a bit more!
