Hello,

I have little interrogations about my travel to Thailand next week. I will arrive from international flight to Bangkok on Thai Airways and must take plane of same company to Chiang Mai. But they change shedule of this plane, now i have only a little more than one hour for change plane. It's first time for me to go with change of plane, so i have some interrogations.

If i understand right my baggages are record in Paris to Chiang Mai, not need to take and record my baggage again in Bangkok?

When i pass immigration, at Bangkok or at Chiang Mai?

Have I enough time for change plane and how it works in airport?

Thank you for answer me.

Your international flight arrives at BKK Suvarnabhumi, not all flights to Chiang Mai leave from this airport. If it is a 3 digit flight number (eg TGxxx) then it does. Otherwise if it's 4 digit (TGxxxx) you will have to transfer to Don Muang.

If your domestic flight leaves from Suvarnabhumi then your luggage will be transferred to the new flight for you.

In the old days transferring in little more than an hour was possible but I hear now that you have to clear immigration at Bangkok before going onward which could make it a bit tight. Hopefully someone can confirm or deny this.

Anyway if THAI accept your booking then they will be responsible if you dont make your flight to Chiang Mai.

Thanks for answer me.

Flight to Chiang Mai is from BKK Suvarnabhumi. When i book ticket there was more than 2 hours between flights, but they change schedule and now only a little more than one hour between flights. if i need pass immigration at BKK, maybe it will be a litlle short.

One hour is PLENTY!!

And besides, it's TG; should you miss it for any reason then they put you on the next flight at no charge.. no worries.

When we went last year on Thai from London our luggage was through checked and we just went to the transfer desk and went though immigration at Chiang Mai.
