yes they give his ventilator extra voltage to make it work better

he is in an ICU - simple

If you are trying to say that ICU doctors won't try so hard to save other peoples lives you are gravely mistaken

Hopefully precautionary. All the best, Boris.

  • I watched him outside no 10 clapping the NHS workers and he looked awful. So I’m not really surprised by this. I’m not a great fan but I wish him well.

Admitted to an Intensive Care Unit and being put on a ventilator are two different things. Glad that you have now googled that so you can admit your error.

He's still not on a ventilator.

You better get in contact with the UK media and let them know. The old newshound John Snow of Channel 4 a few hours ago said live on tv that at all stages the number 10 press office have played down ie have been back one step and said now that Borris was in Intensive care on a ventilator. And wouldnt be in IC if he wasnt on a ventilator. That the speed in which things were happening that it was clear Borris was gravely ill and the fact his girlfriend could not visit him was very distressing for her.

All of the Brits that politically adhere to PM Johnson's downplay of the virus might might want to review their level of gullibility when it comes to the government...

Or is just a social group to fit too? NHS - ????????

The virus is real. It's times like these we can really see the true face of those in public offices.

just because the UK army are not on the streets threatening to shoot people doesn't mean it is not being taken seriously

They have adhered to every changing conditions under medical advice which can change from day to day

maybe if you had the responsibility of running a country like the UK you might just have a sudden boost to your intelligence - they are doing the best they possibly can

Confidential medical information is none of our business.Boris may not have taken this virus seriously but the virus is taking Boris seriously.I just like the way he wears his hair.

Not ordinarily, true, normally confidential medical information should stay confidential.

However, this is a politically exposed person, a public figure, and the prime minister of the UK, the leader of the government.

It could be said that as a public figure his condition is a legitimate public interest.

So far a lot of his treatment was leaked, like that he needed oxygen. Would they go so far as to release information that he was a on a ventilator though? Maybe they would keep that confidential.

when skynews make a statement they do what they usually do and fill in some blanks of their own, please keep us all informed with your Boris bedside vigil, not all of us have that kind of access to the UK Prime Minister

What don't you understand about this?:

"Boris Johnson said three weeks before his Covid-19 diagnosis that he was "shaking hands with everybody," including coronavirus patients, and would continue to do so — despite scientific advice warning against the greeting.

The prime minister tested positive for the virus on Friday as the latest UK politician to contract Covid-19, along with health secretary Matt Hancock.

In the early days of March, Mr Johnson appeared to have a casual attitude towards the virus as European leaders began warning their citizens to stop unnecessary social contact when greeting people."

Strange thing to do.

Well, he's not the only prominent political leader to flout the rules suggested by scientists.

Read the title ........ thought the pound will be well up.

It wasn't!

Boris is certainly no armchair general, he leads from the front and in the past this attitude has served him and the country well. But unfortunately his cavelier attitude this time has let him down at a time when we need him the most.

But I am sure decent people will wish him a speedy recovery, all the best Boris.

Didn't he say the UK public should take the impact of the virus on the chin?

Boris has always lead by example and this is no different (even if it is not by choice).

It is a big wake up call to all those who are not taking this social distancing seriously. Anyone can catch it and its a lottery if you live or die. No one is immune no matter rich or poor.

I hope he pulls through and the baby he's expecting gets to meet their father.

Love him or hate him, there is no getting round the fact that life is a little duller while he's not around.

My prayers are with him and his girlfriend and I hope he can return soon to entertain us for longer with his 'unique' way of doing things.

Can you imagine how Americans would be reacting if Trump was in the same dire situation?

I'm guessing opinions would be somewhat divided.

Regardless of his politics,he is a human being,i wish him a speedy recovery. Watching Doctor Vong's video was instructional and terrifying,as you may know i asked my gf to spend at least 10 days at her mothers house as she is going to her uncles 4 day gan sop and funeral,he was a popular guy and no doubt many people will have come from all over to attend, well you all know Thai women, she is 40 and carried on like a 14 year old,Thai not get,eat chilli ect. Rather like the two posters who's bickering on here made my duels with yeah siam, when he was on here, seem like a tea party.

So let us all spare a moment to reflect on the terrible suffering this disease is causing, not just for the poor souls who catch it but for the many who have lives and buisness ruined by it,instead of stupid arguments wether some one is on a ventilator or not.

Yes. Only 55 years old should go in his favour, though.

You have to figure, too, that he is a fairly determined bloke, and probably getting a lot more attention than most patients. More than just one man's live is at stake here.

?

What else is at stake then ?

Statistics dont sit in his favour, taking into account he is forty pounds overweight for someone his age. I wish him well.

There is a national council of Intensive care (or something like that) and taking his age and symptoms into account he has a 46% chance of curtains !!
His obese body probably won’t help him either.

But that's incorrect. There are severe risks and side effects involved with sedating the patient and the patient OFTEN experience cognitive dysfunctions. Often. Even at a fully restored breathing and early weaning there is a big chance of negative cognitive effects.

I think in this case that ship has long since sailed !

Actually, age is the overriding factor in deaths. But that risk is compounded by various pre-existing conditions and lessened by the lack of them:

I think you have cause & effect round the wrong way.
