English translation regarding automatic visa extensions and suspension of 90 day reporting

im.jpg

On Tuesday (7 April), Thailand’s Prime Minister signed the order confirming a visa amnesty for foreigners in Thailand due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The order grants foreigners whose visas expired on or after 26 March to be automatically extended until 30th April 2020. No overstay fees will be charged during this period.

The order also states the temporary suspension of the 90 day reporting requirement until 30 April.

While the order is yet to be published in the Royal Gazette, making it law, it has already been announced on the Immigration website

The visa amnesty means that foreigners will no longer need to line up at Immigraation offices and should help reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus.

Initially the visa amnesty will end on 30 April but could be extended if the COVID-19 situation does not improve.

A full English translation of the order can be found below.

Exactly! April 30 doesn't do much good when my airline only starts to show flights on 2 May.

Never let a good Pandemic go to waste....

And after April 30 immigration will be hell and all the people who missed it will be there or just forget and be arguing with the officers why they came in June instead of the first week of May. When things start getting back to normal in every private and govt place, i just see crowds and backups. The barbers will do really well for a bit as people go back for that haircut as will the hospitals when people don't fear going in for non-life-threatening stuff. If gas is cheap, the roads will be packed as people travel more. Gonna be some headaches.

You need a translation of the translation to understand the jumble of legalese with circular references to various acts and pronouncements.  Clear as mud.

Oh my. Not enough time!

Aha! I found this somewhere, but I really can't remember where.....

“Aliens who are due for 90 days reports between 26th of March 2020 and 30th of April 2020 are temporarily exempted from reporting in this period until further notice.”

I'd still like to see the official notice if there is one, though. My next 90-day is due on the 20th of April. Does this mean I have to do it on the 1st of May now, or 90 days after the 20th of April?

Just back from immigration

no 90 day needed -it was the time for one

1 year extension to proceed as normal - this month for me

so apart from no 90 days it is business as usual for us retirees

Did they tell you when the next 90-day would be due?

The next will be 90 days after the 1 year extension unless I am told otherwise

I will go to immigration then and ask them

What needs to be done is quite simple: auto-extend everyone to a point 30 days after Thailand's skies are re-opened. This would allow each "alien" to reasonably plan their exit from the Kingdom while avoiding virus risky behavior at Immigration offices.

I think the end April is like what a lot of countries are doing.  They set a goal line where they hope things will be back to sort of normal but realize that it can be extended.

They have done a good thing now let's see what happens.   They are also going to have to make small changes in the way people report once this is over so that they do not swamp the staff in the different offices.    Can  you imagine what it will be like if everyone has to report on the 1st of the month

Well my 90 days is due next week.

Normally just go to Irratation as only 10-15 minutes drive. Last one in and out in under 3 minutes.

But thought I would try online for the first time as they talked about we should do that. Damn!!555

But will still have to wait a few days anyway so lets see!!????????????????

And for those on multi O marriage visas? Nothing? No 90 day border hops possible. Is the only option the 60 day extension? By visiting the immigration office?

OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED ON 1ST MAY....IT IS LABOUR DAY....

Could anyone please clarify one thing? I don't want to start a new thread regarding this. My visa expired on April 1st, but I had a CoViD-19 emergency extension using the embassy letter. I am, as other people, 'under consideration' and have to appear at immigration on April 14. Does that imply that I don't have to go immigration on April 14 and my 'under consideration' will also be 'extended' till April 30? Thank you if anyone's aware of that. It seems like it's missing some vital points for those people who actually extended past the 26th of March.

What does "make and evidence" mean, which is in the top lefthand bubble of the Flow Diagram, put out to assist in the understanding of this extension situation, that the Immigration Bureau posted on this subject?

The full verbiage is; "Aliens who are permitted to have residency in the kingdom and make an evidence of notification for leaving the kingdom in order to re-enter for 1 year."

Thanks in advance for any assistance in helping me better understanding this subject.

Stingy as always.

I was told that by Joe on this forum and by a Visa Agent on Tuesday
