A heat low covers upper Thailand bringing hot to very hot conditions, the Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Sunday (April 12).

Another strong high pressure from China covers upper Vietnam, and it is expected to cover the upper Northeast of Thailand by Monday (April 13).

Thunderstorms with gusty winds are likely in the upper country with hail in the Northeast and the East. People should beware of the severe conditions by keeping away from big trees, and unsecured buildings. Farmers should beware of crop damage.

The dust situation in the upper North will worsen in the morning due to bad ascending of air-parcel while the situation will improve in the upper Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity.

Weather warning

Another round of rather intense high-pressure from China will reach the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea while hot to very hot conditions prevail in the upper country. Summer storms together with thunderstorms and gusty winds will be possible as the cool mass meets the hot air. Lightning and hail are also possible. First the North will face this kind of weather followed by Northeast, the East and the Central regions. People should beware of the severe weather by avoiding the outdoors, keeping away from big trees and unsecured installations, and farmers should prevent crop damage.

If you are lucky you get an 'isolated thunderstorm'. Same as the Northern Territory, Australia at the equivalent time i. e. 'The Build-Up' or 'Silly-Season'. I've seen 7 or 8 of these storms in the sky and we never received a drop of rain!
