Signage has gone up in Pattaya warning all people to stay off the beach until further notice.

It is in both Thai and English and states that there should be no congregating in public areas and that includes the sands.

Offenders can be thrown into jail for a year and/or fined 100,000 baht.

So stay off the beach! You have been warned.

The dog pound will be overflowing!

There will be some mumpties ignoring it........:whistling:

Back dated from April 2nd ?

I wonder if they are they pawing over the CCTV footage looking for offenders to catch and fine.

The dog and pigeons, quick nick em. Blatantly caught in the act.

"No activities in public areas" covers everything you do outside your home!!

Does this mean you can not go out anymore, even to buy food?

Wouldn't surprise me if they actually let the dogs out of the pounds due to lots of them dying..much better to have them roaming around the streets  doing what's natural to them..shagging,biting,barking,pooing,forming packs and hunting for food.

Pattaya still only curfew 22:00 - 04:00.

I walked on beach road on hotel side of the road yesterday. Passed by 2 BIB, no comment from them.

Beach side walkway was deserted at noon, no foreigners, very few coconuts to be seen.

To avoid problems, stay clear from beach road for now, not much to see anyway.

It's Pattaya...... Hell yeah it's polluted.

Try and dig in the sand for just a minute. I'm sure you'll find cigarette butts, used condoms, leftover meals and much more.

But are you allowed to "walk" the beach or jogging?

BIB + Tessakit + all kinds of volunteers are now on the beach walk many times a day. With resent "no activities allowed",  who knows. Clarification needed.

If the beach is as dirty as the water, Thai politicos will for once be doing people a favor.

Most smart countries don't throw people in jail for breaking Covid lockdown. Throwing people in jail for minor offences during a pandemic is dumb. Especially if people aren't tested beforehand. It's not good to have an outbreak in jail. Most smart countries are letting petty criminals out and others out early. Thailand hasn't realised this yet. There are stories of people been put in jail for 15 days for breaking curfew in Isaan. Again dumb. The Thai authorities might realise this in a few weeks after an outbreak in an institution.

Beach road and the walkway are fine. No crowds, very few hookers.

I go everyday for a walk on the beach and on the walkway

there were a lot of people still congregating, drinking beer, particularly

face Mike shopping mail on the platform or near the big picture of the king.

Most of them were old farangs with no masks on the face

i have seen when the big signs have been pinned on the trees 3 days ago around 7 pm.

Now only few people Thais and farangs, including me, are coming here for a walk

or jogging so it's more easy to respect the safety distances.

Still few old farangs without the face mask.

Still some ''working girls'' some with mask, some without.

Untill yesterday evening no police in view.

i will go again in 1 hour as usual and i will give a feedback here

That's good to hear.

Anyone know if Jomtien is following suit?

Being on the beach or on the golf course have to be two of the very safest places a person could be. What is going on? Oh yeah, we know what is going but cannot say.

Well has i promised i am back for an update

Unfortunately you are not allowed anymore to walk on the beach and on the sideway beside the beach  few agents of the municipal police (Blue uniforms) are here and ask kindly to all people to go on the other side of the road.

Of course the sidewalk on this side is less wide, so it's much more difficult

to respect the safe distances.

I think the project is more to avoid the transformation of all the area in a big nomad camp of misery when all the Thai people unable to pay they rent are going to be thrown on the street in the next weeks

Typical brain-dead overreaction, just like in the UK. How is it fine to rub shoulders with lots of strangers in a market or shop, but it's a criminal offence to swim hundreds of yards away from anybody? Laws only command respect when they make sense, and this idiocy (unfortunately like so much else emanating from City Hall) is like a scene from One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

So nobody is peeing in the ocean anymore.

All Chonburi beaches have been closed since 3 April but people don't listen.  The video is Jomtien Beach 9th April (although it says Pattaya).

The closed order is from the 2 april.

By chance it wasn't enforced untill today

walking and jogging on the beach or on the sidewalk isn't an activitie at risk

the risk was the few peoples (Groups of old foreigners and groups of young thais)

sitting around some beers and smokings but of course it's seems to be more easy

to ''punish'' all the population rather than disperse the few irreducible
