Just found this one, to add more fuel on fire for you guys ????

  • Drinking alcohol can increase the risk of catching Covid-19 and governments around the world should limit access during coronavirus lockdowns, the World Health Organization said late Tuesday.
  • The WHO said alcohol consumption is associated with a number of communicable and noncommunicable diseases that can make a person more vulnerable to catching Covid-19.
  • "Therefore, people should minimize their alcohol consumption at any time, and particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic," the office said.

STOP DRINKING! ????????????

Alcohol compromises the body's immune system and increases the risk of adverse health outcomes

No doubt a lot of truth in this however, 2 examples of countries where alcohol has not been banned and they have some of the best numbers (per capita) for low amount of Infections, high amount of recovery and steeply declining new cases are Australia and New Zealand. So, what may seem like logic and what may be scientific fact, is not always the answer.

They are not experiencing out of control groups drinking in public or any other large gatherings for that matter. Most people are happy enough to be able to get out shopping, buy groceries and something to drink at home.

For those self righteous morals and social behaviour police posting in this thread, calling alcoholics pathetic and telling everyone to take this opportunity to give up the evil drink, go and find somewhere else to preach your puritan waffle.

I'm off to try mixing up some of Brit Mans home made baileys!!

  • Are there any other countries in the world (excluding fully dry countries) that are imposing these childish bans on their population?    They really do treat the masses like complete plebs.

New year is over. What does extending the ban hope to achieve?

Zero logic on the ban. There are way more people mingling at the local markets, using the same inane logic they should close the markets..

How about all the people queuing up at food banks, social distancing not enforced. A good example was the photo of people lining up all around the moat in Chiang Mai. If the CV19 death toll numbers are to believed, it's sheer madness some of the restrictions currently in place...

Actually, the people lining up around the moat have been distancing very well, I see them every day

Any mention of possible dates for the Golf courses opening? Haven't read anything on that yet....

Golf courses apperantly opening on the first of may in the Pattaya region.

This is an insult to my religion, Jesus said "drink this (wine) it is my blood". I have been a good Follower

so far, don't force me to sin, amen.

"Wine can make you fat, what will it be, red or white?"

I was counting down the days and then this ????

Like telling little Timmy it's 10 days until Christmas and after ten days, telling him to wait 10 more. And maybe more after that.

Boozemass is cancelled, sorry kids. Although it seemed to be alive and well in a condo on my floor last night, considering the racket they were making. And why do Thais insist on leaving their apartment or condo doors open when laughing and shouting loudly until 3.a.m.? Thanks for that. Next time I'll call security, especially if they don't let me know where they're getting their booze...just out of curiosity, of course ????

Does anyone have the most recent news from Bangkok.

Is it still the 20th or has it been extended yet?

Any update or would be gratefully received. Thanks .

I was in Phayao shops today. Phayao was due to finish on 20/04. Macro and Tops had signs saying 30/04/2563

Would of those saying it's easy to find alcohol during the ban mind giving me a clue where to start looking? I'm a Brit staying here longer than planned in Chiang Mai. Knowing nobody here, a couple of beers a night is keeping me sane! I had stocked up but now the ban has been extended it isn't gong to last.
