Personally, I think I'll reserve judgement on a "survey" carried out by/on behalf of a major hotel conglomerate, especially when Uncle Too is "mulling" whether to ease travel restrictions.

Time to drop ridiculous restrictions and open the borders and economies.

Wash you hands, wear a mask. Say it don't spray it. The cure can't be worse than the disease.

Say it don't spray it..................They could that on posters at the airport (in Chinese).

Not gonna happen. The Chinese were the first to be "banned" from Thailand. Do they really think that slight will not be forgotten? There are simply too many other nations to compete for the tourist dollar, and most are doing a better job. The Chinese will return, but I suspect the numbers will be far lower than before. You know what they say about putting all of your eggs in one basket? Thailand had been warned of the dangers of becoming too dependent on China for years. Now, after you have made your bed, you get to sleep in it. You have alienated all tourists but Indians and Chinese.

And as for the Western tourists? Not gonna happen either. Why? Quality Western tourists are declining here, in a big way, for a dozen very good reasons. You insulted us. You demeaned us. You accused us of being evil, and you accused us of being criminals. You mounted campaigns touting us as bad for the nation. You demonstrated deplorable amounts of racism and xenophobia, and fear of the outside world. Some of your officials even went as far as saying we prefer to have tourists that look more like us! And now you want us to come back? Really? How soon you forget. Sorry, but we have not forgotten what was done and said. Neither have the Chinese forgotten their ban. Not saying it was not the right thing to do. But, that does not necessarily make it less offensive to them.

What alot of tourists worldwide have forgotten is the nation named Thailand. There are too many alternatives now, and they are not only trying harder, they actually have competent people in charge! Surprise!

Couldn't agree more...  people like Anutin do a lot of damage. Unfortunately there are a few like him

And this ravaging of the world has in reality infected less souls and ended less lives than the normal seasonal flus.  How do you explain that?

158,000 deaths from Covid19, and between 291,000 and 646,000 from seasonal flus each year for the past 10 years?

https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2017/p1213-flu-death-estimate.html

With proper monitoring, mask wearing, hand washing, continued isolation of the elderly and at-risk population, the world can go on IMO.

Many dangers out there, Covid 19 and other influenzas are still the 8th leading cause of death.

Obviously, the WHO, the CDC, and world governments have no powers to save all the lost souls from the top 7 leading causes of death either.

Why wait for a vaccine,  30% of people have indicated that they will refuse to take the vaccine, so logically even a vaccine will not quell the spread Covid 19.

Although part of me agrees and wants your comment to be true I don’t understand these figures.

Around 800-1000 people have been dying daily in the U.K for weeks. I’m pretty sure the seasonal flu doesn’t kill that many.

Why should I leave? Because I have some issues with the place, I am not entitled to complain, or voice my opinions?

That's OK -- you still have some catchin' up to do:

28 Sep 2017

The average Brit spends 10 months of their adult lifetime - moaning about the weather, according to new research

(E)ven when the sun DOES make a rare appearance, 57 percent of us still find something to moan about – with almost half of the nation having complained about the weather being too humid, while 46 percent have moaned about it being too hot.

They are going to use this opportunity  to go for developing  countries that need money  and try to take over  by offering loads of cash

Look as sahnoville Cambodia

A building  site of chinese casinos

After UN put sanctions on Cambodia  Chinese  came in and took over

China shall go after poorer counties  first

Like gangs trying  to increase  their territory

F China

All part of the Belt and Road initiative, build infrastructure, long term loans which the "host" country can never repay, forever beholding to the loan owner.

Doing it across Asia Pacific for years. Look at who will do the "fast train" for Thailand.

The season flu is gradual, and does not overwhelm the existing health systems and ventilation is not always required nor ICU beds. There will be decrease in seasonal flu do to social isolation and social distancing measures.

The manner in which Covid19 affects the lungs is totally different to how seasonal flu does. Recovery from Covid19 is also slower and they are yet to measure longer term effects from infection even mild infections.

As much as many of us hate the thought, the Chinese will be the world leaders within 10 years or so. They are just too smart, too ambitious and too well positioned. The US is declining by the day. This was happening long before Covid, and long before Trump, though he has precipitated the decline in my opinion. The US is simply becoming less and less relevant, and Trump has inadvertently taught our closest allies how they can live without us, and be less dependent on the US. After all, it is hard to be dependent on a very undependable ally!

As RJRS1301 says above, the Chinese are very cleverly creating a system of worldwide dependency. And in historic terms, all they are trying to do is re-establish the position they held for centuries. The Tang, Song, Yuan, And Ming dynasties were a golden age for China, lasting nearly a millennium. No doubt the British East India Company contributed to their eventual downfall, in the 19th century, which brought economic devastation, and the murderous, circus clown Mao was also another hugely damaging force. Now, they are on the road to re-establishing their dominance. Hopefully, by the time this all happens, the Chicoms will lose their grip on power, as they are one of the world's most heinous regimes.

Perhaps if some had read Sun Tzu "Art of War" at high school and comprehended it, there are many alternatives to invasion.

If you ever did business with China you will know they aren't smart at all. The reason they are overwhelming the market is because the companies produce cheap and inferior copies of western products, and are subsidized by their government.

The only reason Chinese products are sold all over the world is because they are cheap, but they need to constantly change to cheaper components and materials to be able to keep those low prices because labour costs are rising, and that will last only so long until their product is of such substandard that it is not worth the money anymore

The Chinese economy was in big doo doo quite a while before the corona virus, and they are even in bigger doo doo now.

In the past month alone 3 large public traded Chinese companies have been found out of cooking the books, and quite a few more will follow.

China will collapse faster than it has risen, and it will be noticed all over the world

Umm, from a country that had a 3 month advantage because they started the virus, and now other countries are in an emergency need?

I think there is even a name for that, but this situation will not last forever

They had the advantage because of other leaders incompetence . Often ignoring the warnings from their health advisors.

They also have the greater advantage for the manufacturing, as other countries used it as their chief supplier

Listen China boy, they have hidden the issue to the outside world for more than a month.

When it wasn't possible to hide any longer, they for another 2 months lied to the rest of the world that they had it all under control.

So when the sh*t hit the fan in the rest of the world, it was too late already, and the CCP was producing those goods for 3 months already, so other countries had no other choice as to turn to the Chicoms in their emergency needs.

There are many reports that the tests delivered are as mediocre as the rest of their goods.

The reason many countries used them as their chief supplier is because they have a 1.4 billion people workforce who work at sweatshop prices.

Many of the countries, and companies that have moved their production there, have regretted that for long time already for many reasons,

I import small electronics from China, and their quality has been degrading ever since, to a point that it doesn't make sense anymore to buy from them. This was before the crisis.

Another friend import other goods from China, and visits China twice a month. He told me in November already that business is very bad all over China, and that suppliers are complaining about having no customers.

The transport company we use is very large and government connected. They would send 2 containers per day by truck to Thailand, and maybe another 2 by air every day.

Currently they are sending like 3-4 containers a week by truck

You think it is a coincidence that they g=have been devaluing their currency for the biggest part of the past year?

Resorting to puerile name calling, reflects poorly on you and detracts from any intelligent message or knowledge you may try impart.
Did I disagree with you except to point out known facts?

Take your anger and bile elsewhere.

I am not responsible for the incompetence of leaders of the western world .

You still buy from them though perhaps reevaluate your dealings

This is pure delusion.

The only way it will happen is when COVID disappears completely and China stops quarantining inbound international travelers for 14 days when they return to China.

I disagree.

Who is going to stop it?

Thai government? No.

Tat? No.

Chinese? No.

I agree it's beyond ridiculous, but they will be here again soon
