Hi, I am currently on a 90 day non B visa that expires on April 26th. I’ve changed my plans to work here so I do not plan to get the 1 year extension. Does the new amnesty until July 30th apply to me, or do I need to exit Thailand before the 26th to remain legal?

Thank you for any help.

Confirm that this “Amnesty” does NOT extend a work permit?

In other words NO work permit (after expiration) no job legally...thus No B Visa.

The way I read this Amnesty rule as earlier discussed:

Applies to tourist visa or people that are stuck in Thailand now after the March 26 date.

Other Visas will expire on date normally, but the amnesty only allows a overstay with no charge upon departure.

True?

If you have a Non-Imm B visa (as opposed to an Extension of Stay based on work), you can stay until the permission to stay stamp in your passport expires, and if it expires before 31 July, you are included in the amnesty.  Whether or not you have a Work Permit is not related to the amnesty.

Ok Brewster,

Thank you for the input makes sense...

My B Visa is extension.

My main question I guess is about the work permit.

1. Confirm that the Amnesty has NOTHING to do with a work permit expiration date?

That is correct.

Under normal conditions your extension would end and you would have to leave the country. But you cannot do that now and that is the reason the amnesty applies to you.

Also regarding Non-O (volunteer) which is in the same group as Non -B but without salary.

Normal non-O (retire) can/need to extend as they are not limited to the situation.

But Non-O (volunteer) are in fact people who work here.

Now with the company closed and there isn't the possibility to get letter with signature and stamps from the president, even photos which are one of the requirements for extension.

How about that group?

Also include in the answer, if in the amnesty, when that is lifted are we allowed to go for a extension (company has opened and the paperwork gathered) or do we need to leave the country the same as tourists?

The can stay under the amnesty since they cannot apply for their extensions at this time.

I cannot answer that question with any certainty. Only immigration can answer it since it appears to be a grey area.

I may be a it dense but I still feel confused. I came into the Kingdom on a 3 month Non B visa in October 2019 and was given an extension until Dec 2020 when I go my WP. Uner the amnesty, do I still have to do my 90 day reporting or not? No biggy if I do as I'll do it online, however, I'd rather avoid the agro of trying to do that if I can avoid it.

Ninety day reporting has been suspended until July 31st.
