CCTV showed a Chinese man exit a 19th floor room in a luxury condo in Muang Samut Prakan and get a fire axe from the cabinet in the corridor.

He then went back to the room.

Later that day - March 30th - the man left the room with a bag and has not been seen since.

Inside the room on Friday police found Zhang Li, 53, face up in bed covered in blood.

He had multiple bludgeon wounds to his head and many cuts on his body.

A 80cm fire axe and a 10 inch kitchen knife, both covered in blood were found at the scene.

Yesterday provincial deputy chief Pol Maj-Gen Thanayut Wuthisaratthamrong went to the Muang district police station to check up on developments in the case.

The Maj-Gen said that the suspect's identity is known as he was cohabiting with the deceased. Immigration had been contacted to try and ascertain if the suspect has left the kingdom.

He said they are working on three motives but would not reveal any more details for fear of jeopardizing the investigation.

Was the victim a physician by any chance?

At least they called the suspect Chinese and not foreigner.....

Not sure but I bet the perpetrator was a debt collector?

Never mind. They'll catch him when he reports his new address. Oh sorry - it's only those who are good, honest citizens that do that. Which of course makes the whole address reporting thing completely pointless. But we all know that. The only people who don't are the ones who dreamed up and enforce the scheme.

Looks younger than the 53 year old victim in the photo - as Larry Grayson used to say (UK), "what a ... day"!

Guy doesn't sound too dangerous if he can only manage to bludgeon someone with an axe.
