"Addendum: The World Health Organization (WHO) has denied that there was a phone call between China's head of state and the WHO Secretary-General on January 21. A spokesman said the two had "never spoken by phone" about the Corona pandemic. "

 

the BND concluded a loss of 4-6 weeks, on the assumption that the telephone call actually occurred.  but if there were no phone call?  no 4-6 weeks.

 

 

classic propaganda.  get the claims of the "secret phone call" into the press where it will be repeated endlessly until taken as fact by those unwilling to question.

You need to know China’s politics to understand that Xi’s position is much under threat by his own CPC inner circle. His mishandling of the Corona virus in the early stages and the economy have been much criticized by the Central Committee. It is Xi interest and survival to repair China image and his own. To make an official statement to allow investigation is an endorsement by his central committee.
