Tonnes of rice delivered to sea gypsies in community barter deal

PHUKET:-- A total of 3.5 tonnes of rice was handed over five sea gypsy communities in Phuket and a further three tonnes of rice has been dispatched to be delivered by the Royal Thai Navy to sea gypsies on Koh Lipe in Satun province.

Daily consumer spending to rise further in second-phase of easing

The planned further easing of restrictions on May 17 combined with the first phase of relaxation of measures may generate daily public spending of Bt6 billion to Bt8 billion, estimates the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce’s Centre for Economic and Business Forecasting.

Last Covid-19 patients check out of Pattaya hospital

The five, whose identities were concealed for their protection, presented gift baskets to staff at the Grand Bella Hotel, who gave them hand sanitizer and other hygiene items in return.

 

Pattaya’s last five Covid-19 patients were all smiles as they left the city’s coronavirus field hospital after a month of treatment.

GENEVA (Reuters) - A wholesale market in the central Chinese city of Wuhan played a role in the outbreak of the novel coronavirus last year, as the source or possibly as an "amplifying setting", the World Health Organization said on Friday, calling for more research.
