Pyrrhic victory 1-0 to Australia.

 

I want an investigation into how all this happened just as much as everyone else. Will be 12-24 months away at the very least anyway. I am just saying the Australian government for whatever motive has gone about this the wrong way and done itself a lot of needless harm, rather than a bit of quiet diplomacy amongst the corridors of power in the UN talking with its allies beforehand.

 

It's a bit like sticking your head bravely above the parapet to get it blown off when you could have consulted others to discover there was a mine below enemy trenches that was about to be exploded.

 

This noble jingoism is all very well, but it doesn't put food on the table for vignerons, meat workers and barley farmers who have just lost $500m of business. And guess who may be filling those lost orders...USA! And that, it appears, is just for starters. 

 

After brilliantly containing the virus, the Aussie Government has now totally and unnecessarily mismanaged the aftermath, when there was an alternative smarter way to safely achieve one's objective.

Well done Australia for standing up for what you believe...

You can tell who got hospitalized by standing up to the schoolyard bully when later cold sweet revenge would have been far more effective.
