Looks like the red areas on the map are entertainment areas and the yellow is residential, thats pretty much the way it looks like today. As brit says, it's been tried before.

Not sure how they are going to enforce the law of no alcohol or entertainment place within 500m, or was it 200m, from schools and temples. If they do walking street would have to go with the school and sihk temple just across the street, Wat Chai is also not far off.

they would have to move a lot of schools, not a bad idea actually, why they are where they are is beyond me

just mish mash way pattaya was thrown together over the years, no thought whatsoever, maybe another excuse to trash falangs that have invested in business here.........................hidden agenda of the thais i believe................they are children really

if you have a bar or other business here that you are renting from a thai...........watch how they take it off you for nothing, just a guess but all this stuff must be going somewhere

I was thinking more about the JomTien area. I like the residential/commercial mix and can't say I'm enthused about the encroachment of bars and massage parlours.

Did anyone else notice that it looks like the plan calls for moving the entertainment zone (other than Walking Street) back away from Beach Road? People have been talking about the demise of the bars near Beach Road for a long time. Seems the new plan is going to call for exactly that.

Good luck moving the Coconut Bar though........ :o
