Ah so you think the emergency decree is about virus? So cute how ignorant people are these days.

If the Thai government actually believed that virus no longer exists In Thailand they would tell people to ditch the masks, forget the distancing and hand hygiene, open up nightclubs and sports events

Oh yeah, what about tests?  how many tests?  they are hiding <deleted> I will not be satisfied until the entire population is tested.  It's so easy to hide 20,000 dead bodies   bla bla

Can we assume that since the tracing app was put into play no people who have tested positive used the app to sign in anywhere? Otherwise, if any of these recent positives used the app, seems like we would get a report of how many people were notified that they had been to the same places as the now-identified positive people. Or, did I miss that?

Anyone who had tested positive would be in quarantine and not signing in anywhere. If they

had been released after 14 days and shown to be virus free, they may well be able to join

the general public in getting out and about.

I'm not asking if they went and checked in at any stores after they tested positive. I'm saying that prior to testing positive, if they used the app, then that would have flagged a bunch of people and if the app is working at all, why aren't we hearing about all those people now being notified? Either the app is working and these new positive people didn't check in anywhere prior to testing positive or they did check in places and the app isn't working as intended. I'm sure it's not that they checked in, it's working, and we're not being told about it.

Have you questioned your own country and own goverment? You are just a guest in this country and act like one. Just be respectful and leave the criticizing to the Thai people, This their homeland right?

Everybody has got a right to voice his opinion, nothing to do being a guest or not. You can still be respectful even though you are criticizing.... Engage the brain and get some b**ls.. And on top the homeland??? What has that got to do with it? Jezuz

While I don't believe the government has been entirely transparent about testing and infection numbers, trying to hide thousands of deceased [numbers] with todays social media is hard to imagine!

But, you have to think about who would be reporting that to us via social media. It wouldn't be one of the family members of one of the people who died or a medical staff person who took care of them. They just see that one case. People die all the time and no report is made on social media about any one death. If it were, it still wouldn't tell us something about the total number dying.

All you need for an extra 20k deaths here this year is a bump up of only 10% of average monthly deaths. Wouldn't happen all at the same time. Wouldn't produce a mound of bodies. No single case in all of them would reveal that total number to the person's family or doctor.

The only people who see that total number would be a small set of people at the MOPH. What you're hoping for is that if it's worse than they are reporting that there is a whistleblower among that small group of people. Could happen. But, people in that group staying silent isn't really that hard to imagine for me.

Take another medical issue for example. Dengue. Look at the number of reported Dengue infections in the first three months of the year and then look at April. Calculate the percentage of that jump (more than 10%). We know about the jump not because of a mound of dead bodies or social media reports. We know about it because of reports made by the people at the top who get the aggregate data.

Reporting no new cases of Covid 19 does not mean the virus has disappeared. The number of new cases is strongly linked with how people are tested, which also depends on how many people come forward to be tested. Restrictions need to be continued to avoid new outbreaks which are hard to control. Follow the lead of S Korea and Australia to get closer to eliminating the virus.

Am I missing something? If somebody used the app prior to testing positive there wouldn't be any record of that person being infected would there. You have to be tested positive first for it to be recorded on the app.

I thought the purpose of our recording our check-ins via the app is so that if someone who was in the same place as us tested positive, the app would identify people who were in the same places as that person. So, if any of the newly positive people had checked in via the app before getting tested, then wouldn't the app be used to send notices out? Isn't that the main purpose of the app? No such notices means either none of these newly positive people used the app before being tested or it's not working.

Yes, as I understand it, if somebody else was infected, was tested positive then had that positive test recorded on the app on there own phone, anybody else also has the app on their phone AND is within range of being possibly infected should get a warning. If you haven't received a warning you haven't been in contact with an infected person yet........probably because any newly positive tested people would still be in quarantine so wouldn't be in range of you (or anybody else) anyway.

A limitation to this app being effective is when an infected person's app still shows them as being 'active' although that person has recovered and is no longer able to pass the virus to a third party. Unless their apps are correctly updated, I can see a lot of people's apps still sending out warnings long after they cease to to be infectious.

There's a reason for the wording of the statement. It's literally true. They didn't say there weren't any cases, they stated that they weren't reporting any.

new international flights will soon ensure they get more 2nd wave cases quite soon

I understood it differently. Perhaps I'm wrong. I thought that if I go check in at Lotus on Monday, then test positive on Tuesday, that record of my having been at Lotus the day before lines up with the other people who checked in that time and the app would allow a notice to be sent to those people to get tested.

If I understood it correctly the reason is that if people do not obey then the 2nd wave will come, and it is their fault.

Ah I see the political blame game
