2nd Non-imm B

Featured Replies

I have a 1 yr multiple entry non-imm B visa which is valid until July. I haven't worked in LoS during this time so haven't had a WP etc. I may however be planning to work sometime in the near-ish future (but after July). Will I still be able to get a 1 yr visa allowing me to work when the 1 st one wasn't used? I heard (from a bar stool) this isn't possible.

Anybody know?

Thanks.

PS. It was used for coming in and out of LoS but not for work.

Scouse.

I do not believe you will receive any such visa anywhere in the area and suspect you may find it hard to obtain elsewhere as well without a solid business reason/evidence.

That happened to a friend of mine who had an unused 90 day B visa (not 1 year like yours).

When he applied for the same B visa again (in Singapore I think) without having used the first visa for a work permit, the embassy official slipped a polite note into his passport saying that the next time he applies for the same type B visa, he would have to show proof that he had at least started the work permit process already.

In your case, I dunno if that would apply because you had a whole year to apply for a work permit, while my friend had only 90 days so maybe it was more "excusable" for him to not have a work permit yet. That's just a guess on my part...
