I just ordered a new solar inverter from a Chinese seller via AliExpress, I've used this seller several times before with no problems.

 

Last time I bought inverters from the same outfit they used DHL and under-declared the value so I paid a "sensible" amount of duty and VAT.

 

I was anticipating something similar this time, but they've offered me "Thailand Special Line" which I'm assuming is this service from Evereast

No duty to pay at this end and no additional charge (shipping was already US$107 on a US430 inverter). They said that they will "pay the duty" at their end.

 

SimplyDuty.com put's duty on an inverter at 10% + 7% VAT so US$76 to pay leaving them US$31 for the shipping (of course they will under-declare).

 

We shall see how it works out.

 

Inverter was delivered today, no additional fees charged ????
