Jeebsus. They really like to make a mountain out of a molehill. Johnson & Cummings are enemy no 1 & 2...they are delivering Brexit. Anything they say or do will be castigated.

You read the UK press today and you'd think they'd committed a capital crime.

He had relatives in London. The government are a shambles and have been for months. Practice what you preach, no exceptions.

  • Why should the masses listen to anything they are told to do when these jerks think that the rules do not apply to them. People should just go out and do what they want. Same as that tosser

Were the Mail and the Telegraph pro or anti Brexit. They're leading the charge.

Its nothing to do with Brexit.

Its about a senior member of number 10 failing to observe the rules they expect everyone else to obey.

Again.

It was nothing of the sort. His son would have got more support had they stayed at their primary residence in London. According to Cummings, the family had zero direct contact with others during their 14 day isolation in Durham and that includes their son. A pathetic excuse. It was just nicer place to be isolated and afforded day trips to tourist attractions such as Barnard Castle.

DCummings sits at the right-ear of BJohnson.

That Power brings with it both responsibility and accountability.

I have friends + family in the UK who were unable to say their last goodbyes to their friends; they were also unable to attend the funerals.

I have friends + family who were at their *absolute* wits-end trying to distract their locked-up children.

I have friends + family who currently have great problems finding appropriate childcare for their children as they try to return to work.

My Aunt hasn't been able to see a single-person in her extended-family for *months*.

These are people who were Following The Rules, as they were told to, and as they understood them.

--  People have been making *tremendous* sacrifices as they Followed The Rules  -  they *need-to-know/expect* that Their Leaders will too.

DCummings had direct access to the *best* childcare-services that the country has to offer. He had family + friends that could've helped him out while he stayed in London.

He chose to place his personal-wants+needs above that of the general-public, and also chose not to care about how it might appear to the public.

For a man with a great deal of Power, DCummings shows *no* Leadership, and also apparently no understanding of/empathy for the sacrifices made by the public.

Johnson is rapidly heading into the same league as Trump so it seems.

Pity he doesn't play golf.

Special people deserves special statuses.

Pretty sure many will agree with this,

of course now mainly Brexiters,

but it could be the other way around according who is in power.

There was absolutely no excuse for him to travel to Durham especially with him being in his position and him or his wife having the virus.

One phone call to No. 10 and he would have got all the help he needed whether it be child care food deliveries or health care.

He was in a privileged position unlike the rest of us peasants yet he seems the think the rules don't apply to him.

It stinks makes Boris look weak like he has no backbone or perhaps Cummings has something  on him he doesn't want to get out.

...and if Cummings and his wife went into ICU who would be looking after his son?

I haven't really seen anything yet that convinces me that he did anything any other parent wouldn't have done in the same situation...The only issue i have is this alleged visit to that castle 30 miles from Durham. That needs to be cleared up

The real reason he went to Durham was so he, his son, and his parents would at least be together in the event of any family member succumbing to the virus. And which was denied by the vast majority who abided by the government's doctrine to stay at freaking home.

"Keir Starmer, leader of the opposition Labour Party, described Johnson's decision to take no action against Cummings as "an insult to the sacrifices made by the British people".

Stephen Kinnock MP and Tahir Ali MP both broke the lock down rules. Without anything like a valid reason. Both were spoken to by the police about their behavior.

Now, Sir Keir, we await your insistence they resign. As elected members of parliamentary, the legislative body, these "lawmakers" must set examples and follow the law.

So far, Sir Keir, hasn't commented. Not surprising for a man who has Director of Public Prosecutions instructed the police not to pursue Pakistani and Bangladeshi sex abuse gangs who were sexually abusing young white girls including using illegal drugs. Sir Keir thought the bigger picture of racial harmony more important than any justice for the victims.

As a leader Sir Keir, your judgement stinks.

Labour sure can pick their leaders - Kinnock, Blair, Brown, Corbyn and now this cretin.

So did another Labour MP - Tahir Ali. He attended a funeral with about 100. Told police he went as "an observer" 555!

Just the usual socialist hypocrisy and lying. And Starmer remains quiet of course.

Do you have any proof he visited Barnard Castle whilst supposedly in lockdown?

If so, it's a game changer and he must go.

If not, the source should be unmasked for deliberate fake news.

Correct, an unelected psychopath orders the UK’s callous and failed herd immunity experiment.

The left had an epic wobbly over this, so the govt then had to go through all this smoke and mirrors lockdown”

Incorrect, it was epidemiologists at University College London who exposed the inevitable death count of the herd immunity experiment.

You’ll have to get over the idea that the ‘opposition parties’ ‘oppose’ Government, it’s a principle of Britain’s Parliamentary democracy.

Could you provide citation(s) to the clinical assessment that found Cummings to be a psychopath please.

If not, then please withdraw your fake comments as it's against forum rules to deliberately post false information.

Thank you.

Retired teacher Robin Lees, from Barnard Castle, said this weekend he saw Mr Cummings and his family walking by the River Tees near the town.

He told the Mirror and Observer: “I was a bit gobsmacked to see him, because I know what he looks like.

“It just beggars belief to think you could actually drive when the advice was stay home, save lives. It couldn’t have been clearer.”

I tend to think the general consensus will be one rule for them, one rule for us.

Won't do Boris any favours, other politicians in different countries who were caught out had the decency to resign.

Tend to agree.

But if Cummings has to go, then Stephen Kinnock MP and Tahir Ali MP must also.

There's little doubt that Sturgeon forced the former Scottish CMO to resign after initially supporting her and saying resignation wasn't required. Sturgeon feared a backlash.

Boris is standing by his mate, but that will be untenable if public opinion swells, especially if Cummings did go out and about whilst supposedly on lockdown.

This guy who's wife had symptoms drove to isolate in a house nearby extended family, so that if they were to become seriously unwell the extended family could look after their child. They were in a separate property and had food placed on the door step - Domonic Cummings executed common sense.

London to Durham is about 4 to 4.5 hours drive the press headline is a hyperbolae and tells us all we need to know about the exaggeration and bias in what seems to be a witch-hunt.

Don't let crappy press politics get in the way of what is really a 'non-story' - which is someone ensuring they had their bases covered while self quarantining.

110%!   shows how left wing most of the media is in UK.   Boris should ignore them and get on with job he was elected by a massive majority to do.

And several ladies accused Alex Salmond of sexual abuse. Cases that didn't stand up in court. Ladies suddenly appeared out of nowhere to accuse Justice Kavannagh in the US.

Not being funny, but one person, saying the saw him is not proof.

BBC have not been so vocal about demanding the resignation of 2 Labour MP's who broke the lockdown rules without any good justifiable reason.

The guy is a knob anyway. Obviously Boris can't function withouthime, useless PM.

I see what you're saying, it's a fair point. An eye witness report is evidence. It's not conclusive evidence like, say phone records.

Still, why would a retired teacher be adamant that he saw Cummings and go on record with his real name? Because he hates Cummings and the government so much? Unlikely. It would seem logical that he visits a town for an outing.

I agree with the UK Government.  Mr Cummings acted with integrity.

I'll stick with David Cameron's assessment of Cummings, he does after all know the man personally.

Why would a retd teacher not have a smartphone to hand, or access to local CCTV? Until such evidence emerges it cannot be taken seriously & I'm not sure it'll be 'game over' if it does.

A member of the public saw him and even made a note of his vehicle number. Knowing the time and location, would have been easy for the local police to verify/disprove the claim via CCTV in the area and the car registration. They did nothing. Johnson also refused to answer the question yesterday. Doesn't look good.

I squirmed when I heard that despite my overall belief that trial-by-media-circus is frankly not on.
