I've been having massage at a shop since February. Solid-built woman, mid-forties, average looks. When she was forced to close up by government order, I gave her some money to tide her over, saying she could work it off in massages when she re-opened. She is open now, in a closed-up kind of way, and she has done two massages since, free.

On the second massage, she astounded me by saying she wanted me as her gik. She knows I have a girlfriend. She says she has no husband or boyfriend. I am not handsome. I am elderly, and one woman is enough for me. Reasonably fit for my age bracket, still have regular sex.

I am just wondering if she is pre-menopausal horny, or looking to supplement her income with sexual services. While I think it's more likely to be the latter, I'd like comments from people who have had a gik based on lust alone, and those for whom it is a commercial arrangement. Call it my insatiable curiosity.

If you like her pay her, if you love your GF stay away. Personally I dont have GF's only sideliners - life's easier that way and I don't want Cheese Pizza every night.

The pizza has been pretty tasty for the last 7 years, with no STD worries. But I do understand what you are saying. Variety is the spice of life.

Think about what might happen if she becomes your gik. And then you have a misunderstanding. She knows your girlfriend and she might use that in a way you don't like.

It's so easy to have sex in Thailand with someone who does not know the wife/gf. Which makes the situation so much easier.

A 'gik' is a 'friend' and that presupposes a relationship.
Having two relationships may be the norm for Thai guys and women, but why wade into those waters if you have a functioning relationship.

Limit your exposure to women other than your girl-friend/spouse to business.  You pay the lady for a massage. She needs more money?  Pay her to wash your car, etc.  Keep it strictly business.

Blackmailed?? The OP only has a girlfriend, not a wife who he has kids with etc. I doubt he'd pay Bt 1,500 in 'blackmail' money, let alone 1.5 mil. You gotta laugh.

My understanding of a 'gik' is that's is like 'friends with benefits' or a 'f%%k buddy'. I don't have one. The trouble I see with this type of relationship is that it's not just about the money but has an awkward 'friendship/relationship' aspect that could get quite messy. It's not like just paying for it outright where you can do the deed and forget, there's a long-term aspect to it that can go sideways on you.

Gik to me was always as you say friends with benefits, on a more serious note Mia Noi thats another story but was quiet accepted in Thai society

I only came here to read NCC's comment but he must be busy.

Every time when the locals asks me if i have a wife/gf i tell them i have a gik and they giggle under their breath they must think i'k very funny/clever or something...

Haha, I wouldn't entertain her proposition. She'll come at you with a two-pronged attack. She certainly needs money right now, and at her age, she certainly has her needs.

 

Upon first coming to Thailand years ago, I'll admit I was thinking with the small head, and went after the 20-somethings. I soon found that other than their looks I was getting a raw deal. For the serious action, one must double their target age. ???? But to stay in a committed relationship, stay away from them.
