Thai media 77kaoded reported that tourists were adjusting to the so-called "new normal" and were cooperating with the regulations imposed on visitors to Koh Larn to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Along with beaches in Pattaya, popular island was opened on Monday to day trippers.

Hotels there are still shut.

The media said that tourists were cooperating by wearing masks and social distancing, keeping one to two meters apart.

They went with a banner headline on their main picture: Kohlarn New Normal.

That's not mine.

Who like to go to the beach and has to sit like in a hospital?

Adjusting to the new abnormal. Ridiculous rules of wearing masks while being outdoors.

"The media said that tourists were cooperating by wearing masks and social distancing, keeping one to two meters apart."

Do you get arrested for being 2.10 metres apart?

Just a thought, how does one stop the spread of something that hasn,t arrived yet ?

They have a long drag line with handholds 2 meters apart.

Complete embeciles

First went there in 1980. It was so idyllic. No chance of it reverting back, but it would be nice if it could contain the offshore onslaught that has propagated in recent years.

I have heard of Thai tourists, but have not seen a herd of them lately. I hear that they may soon come here, since the local scene is something that has to be seen to believe.

"Most Thais" do not favor an island as a tourist destination, since they prefer to go somewhere whereas they can access easily by car. Anything what seems to involve more than 100 meters of walking seems to be too much for most of them. I don't say everybody. But by experience I would say that most islands in Thailand are invaded by foreign tourists.

Agree with you,

Also when riding solo on motorbikes.

Sure, enclosed spaces, indoor malls, areas with heavy foot traffic,  etc

I haven't seen any ' herds ' of Thai tourists.????????

Plenty of ' herds ' of Chinese, especially at the buffet tables!

I'm not seeing much two-meter social distancing in the photos with the OP article.

Masks absolutely stifle your breathing in warm weather. I refuse to wear one for health reasons.

Actually not a bad idea to protect oneself against the smog and exhaust fumes.
