Yong Poovorawan

Tuition centres pose a greater risk for spreading Covid-19 than normal schools, as they are always located in crowded places such as department stores, and are full of children in one teaching room, Dr Yong Poovorawan, Chulalongkorn Hospital’s clinical virologist, said on his Facebook page on Friday (June 12).

The doctor advised tuition centres to strictly implement Covid-19 preventive measures, suggesting that the entrepreneurs provide online courses as a way to reduce the density in each centre.

He also mentioned that provincial schools are less crowded, compared to those in big cities. So, the provincial schools are ready for opening, under the public health officials’ supervision. Meanwhile, schools in big cities must practice social distancing and reduce human density.

The doctor said that grown-up students can spread the virus farther than younger ones, as they travel a longer distance.

It seems that this Yong guy has acquired a somewhat pathological taste for being in the headlines, as he is now spouting fear-mongering nonsense almost every day.

So... Thai schools are supposed to be less risky because they do NOT cram as many students into "teaching rooms" as tuition centers?

Has Mr. Yong actually ever BEEN to a class room at a "normal" school? They are ALL crammed, 30 to 40 students being quite the norm.

children have about 0 chance to DIE from corona

they have something working in general, it is called A WORKING IMMUNE SYSTEM

Scare mongering again, where is the threat with no domestic infections for a protracted number of days?

There is no threat !!!
