A video clip of a Thai man helping a cat to escape a watery death has gone viral on the popular TikTok app, drawing more than one million views.

The white cat is seen swimming for its life after falling into a canal at an unknown location in Thailand.

The man uses a broom to try and fish the desperate animal out of the water. As passersby cheer him on from the bridge, he finally achieves success by plucking the cat from the water.

However, the ungrateful creature scratches his hand – and promptly lands back in the water as he is forced to let go. Undeterred, the man with the broom finally completes the rescue mission, helping the bedraggled cat back to dry land.

With a broomstick? Shudder ????

So nice Thai people ! Rescue a cat but let their own dogs starve or chained 24 hours, without even walking them 5 minutes daily...
