There are more than 5,000 part-time job vacancies in June this year, the Department of Employment said.

Suchat Pornchaiwiseskul, the department's director-general, explained that the Covid-19 impact had caused many businesses to lay-off their employees and changed the type of employment.

"Although the situation has improved, we will continue to work towards ensuring that all Thai people, such as new graduates, the disabled and the elderly have a job," he said.

He further explained that many business entrepreneurs had informed the department that they want part-time employees. There are vacancies for 716 production workers, 696 office staff, 596 general workers, 289 customer service staff, 215 product delivery staff, 145 customer assistants, 141 salespersons, 126 other service staff, 109 gems and jewellery technicians and 101 motor vehicle drivers, he said.

"Interested people can apply for jobs at the Ministry of Labour or the Provincial Employment Offices nationwide or website http://smartjob.doe.go.th," he said. "In addition, people can search for part-time job vacancies at "ServeNganDuan" (quick job serve) Facebook Fanpage."

For more information, contact the department via the Ministry of Labour hotline: 1506 press 2.
