Canada's Trudeau calls arrest video of indigenous leader 'shocking'

To start with there is no law to say you have to respect police and they cannot arrest you for that.

The police are duty bound to suck it up, its part of the job. If they cannot handle it then leave.

There is also no law that says you cannot swear at police.

The police are there to uphold justice, not to dish out justice. The 2nd officer went way overboard. 2 officers there should have handled it with de escalation and a minimum of fuss.

Is that so in Canada?

In the UK resisting arrest is an offense in itself.

Oh man that was sweet. Adam learning a swift lesson in respect, better than any liberal court could do. Bet he won't duck and weave like Cassius Clay next time he is pulled over.

Everyone has a limit to their patience. Mine was finished after a few seconds of the Chief's <deleted> and blinding. The police sucked it up for a full 12 minutes before Adam kept upping the agg

  • The thing is with all these forceful arrests is , if you didn't resist or stand there threatning or being abusive , the arrest would be a simple act and nobody gets hurt. Everybody is so bloody m

A wee sticker? Third world system. OZ police just check the computer in their car. ????

That is precisely what Canadian cops do...every cop car has a computer riding as passenger...

.the little sticker allows them (all too frequently) to see at a glance if you have renewed your insurance.  A friend of mine was fined $500 when he was caught being 3 days overdue on renewal.

Absolutely zero need for the excessive violence used by the second police officer. He charged straight in like a maniac and punched a man viciously in the face who was being held on the ground.

No excuses.

as  stated in my post #9

Looks like a happier time for the chief.

It means his registration sticker is expired, see VocalNiels photo.

You pay yearly for an updated sticker that goes in the corner of your license plate.

Here its in the corner of your windshield. In Alberta it goes on your license plate, same same, but different

We don't have any stickers anymore in Western Australia the cops

have it all on computer in their cars, if you drive past a cop car they

know right away if your license has expired or if you banned from

driving.

Yes I posted that as well you just beat me to it

Punch unnecessary, but not like he wasn't asking for it. What do you expect when you break the law and threaten the police? Just a perp that happened to be non-white. Shocking would be if he were innocent and polite and then got beat up. None-news if white man.

When a leader and role model acts like this what chance do young native kids have?

Justin will be glad of this, eh. He's apologised to so many people for so many things he needed a new topic to get on the outrage bus aboot.

I'm pretty sure that the actions taken by the second officer are not in any training manual (off the rugby field), and his career will come to an abrupt halt. Absolutely disgraceful but at least, unlike south of the border, the guy is alive.
