Daily News reported that commandos from the elite Hanuman task force conducted raids on 31 places throughout Thailand this morning at 6am.

It was action against an online guns for sale ring.

Heavily armed officers with search warrants conducted the synchronized raids in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Ayuthaya, Sa Kaeo, Tak, Chonburi, Ratchaburi and Surat Thani.

Grrrrr. I suppose now I can kiss goodbye to that 105 mm howitzer I bid for......

That Hanuman task force doesn't monkey around

I love the way Thais promote their illegal doings on the internet for everyone to see. Usually it's those who organise bike road races, sometimes it's pimping. And then they're shocked when Plod comes knocking at their door.

:cheesy:   they could search every house in the street and I bet they'd find a gun in 80% of the homes.

Lol

Must have been impacting on the "legitimate" sales by the BIB and the military. Can't have any organised competition.

Usually when they do this, its BB/pellet guns that are being sold, not actual firearms with bullets.

The abundance of firearms available for illegal purchase are all at the behest of the PM and his Govt. Arrange a a slick deal with a foreign arms manufacturer where certain Govt people get a "spotters fee", then supply police officers with new firearms and tell them to keep their old weapons and dispose of them the best way they can. Maybe sell them on the internet, the local gambling joint, the backroom bar or get really sophisticated and sell the to convicts being sent home from gaol. anyway these weapons finish up on the streets.(Maybe to shoot their original owners). Great Thai logic.
