Sanook reported that the Thai transport minister had indicated further easing of Covid-19 restrictions on public transport.

Saksayam Chidchob said that from July 1st friends and people from the same family would be allowed to sit next to each other on the BTS in Bangkok.

However, when taking further journeys that lasted 50 minutes of more people would still have to observe spaces between seats on public transport.

wish they would make up their minds

Thursday it was announced that no distancing required on trips of less than 50mins on buses and trains...........................of course as I predicted an hour later it was announced for airlines too which was the whole point of it

seems that Saksayam Chidchob didn't get the memo - maybe he was having some Black Label fish sauce at the time

Why the pretence anyway, if one or two people are infected in a BTS rail car, odds are others will probably get infected. The photos used for these articles of late don't show real usage on a lot of lines.

Obviously they have realised that they cannot transport all of the people with the distancing measures so make it sound like we are giving them something....... What a load of <deleted> ........LOL

"Friends and family members"

Not enforceable otherwise.

Why bother with more bureaucratic nonsense?

If anyone asks, we are all friends...

Come on, people, now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now

Everyone is my friend so restrictions do not apply.

People need to stay 6 feet apart from each other on the skytrain at all times........How many times have they said the 6 foot rule is critical?.......

Well since everyone ignores the 6 foot rule....I guess we will not require it on the skytrain......But if you go to the beach its absolutely critical you stay 6 feet apart...

I don't think Ive ever read of a 6 foot rule, have heard 1.5m mentioned numerous times but never 6 foot.

CDC guidelines

To practice social or physical distancing stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people.

You do know this is a Thailand forum yeah ?

They ( Thailand) have spoken of the 6 foot distancing a zillion times....

And if the journey with my family is going to take more than 50 minutes, get off half way and wait 5 minutes for the next train. Sorted.
